The measurement of primary π±, K ±, p and p
production at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) in proton–proton collisions
at √s = 7 TeV performed with a large ion collider
experiment at the large hadron collider (LHC) is reported.
Particle identification is performed using the specific ionisation
energy-loss and time-of-flight information, the ringimaging
Cherenkov technique and the kink-topology identifi-
cation of weak decays of charged kaons. Transverse momentum
spectra are measured from 0.1 up to 3 GeV/c for pions,
from 0.2 up to 6 GeV/c for kaons and from 0.3 up to 6 GeV/c
for protons. The measured spectra and particle ratios are
compared with quantum chromodynamics-inspired models,
tuned to reproduce also the earlier measurements performed
at the LHC. Furthermore, the integrated particle yields and
ratios as well as the average transverse momenta are compared
with results at lower collision energies.

Measurement of charm and beauty production at central rapidity versus charged-particle multiplicity in proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2015)Prompt D meson and non-prompt J/ψ yields are studied as a function of the multiplicity of charged particles produced in inelastic proton-proton collisions at a centreof-mass energy of √ s = 7 TeV. The results are reported ... -
Measurement of Prompt D0, Λc+, and Σc0,++(2455) Production in Proton-Proton Collisions at √s = 13 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2022)The pT-differential production cross sections of prompt D0, Λ+c, and Σ0,++c(2455) charmed hadrons are measured at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV. This is the first measurement of Σ0,++c production ... -
Double D-meson production in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at the LHC
Helenius, Ilkka; Paukkunen, Hannu (Elsevier BV, 2020)We consider the simultaneous production of two heavy-flavoured hadrons – particularly D mesons – at the LHC. We base our calculations on collinearly factorized QCD at next-to-leading order, using the contemporary parton ... -
