Ammatillisen koulutuksen digitalisaatio työnantajanäkökulmasta : kirjallisuuskartoitus

Abstract

Viitekehys: Nopeasti edenneen digitalisaation vaikutuksena digitaalisuus on lisääntynyt toisen asteen ammatillisessa koulutuksessa. Digitalisaatiolla on vaikutus opiskelijan oppimisprosessiin, yhteiskunnassa kansalaisena tarvittaviin yleisiin taitoihin ja opiskeltavaan alaan liittyviin substanssitaitoihin. Opiskelijan näkökulmasta digitalisaatio näkyy mm. digitaalisina oppimisympäristöinä, digitaalisena kommunikaationa, uusina, omaan alaan liittyvinä ohjelmistoina ja välineinä. Toisen asteen ammatillisen koulutuksen tärkeänä asiakkaana on työelämä, jonka tarpeisiin koulutuksesta valmistuvan opiskelijan osaamisen ja koulutuksen mukana tulleiden tietojen ja taitojen pitäisi vastata. Työelämän tarpeet ja vaatimukset eivät ole kuitenkaan täysin yksiselitteisiä ja selviä, kun ajatellaan tulevan työvoiman digitaalisen osaamisen ja digitaalisessa ympäristössä toimisen kykyjä. Työnantajilla on alakohtaisia ja työnantajakohtaisia eroja digitalisaation edistymisen suhteen, eivätkä tarpeet välttämättä vastaa toisiaan. Eroa on myös siinä, kuinka pitkälle työnantajat kykenevät ennakoimaan ja määrittelemään tulevaisuuden tarpeita. Opinnäytteen tavoite ja menetelmä: Tämän opinnäytteen tarkoitus oli selvittää kirjallisuuskartoituksen ja tuloksista tehtävän synteesin avulla, miten työnantajien näkemyksiä toisen asteen ammatillisen koulutuksen digitalisaatiosta on tieteellisesti tutkittu, mitä kartoituksista saaduissa tuloksissa todetaan ammatillisen koulutuksen nykytilasta verrattuna työnantajien tarpeisiin ja mitkä asiat koetaan tuleviksi kehittämisen tarpeiksi. Opinnäytteen tulokset ja siitä tehtävät johtopäätökset: Tuloksista käy ilmi, että tästä aiheesta on tehty varsin vähän tutkimusta. Tutkimuksessa käsiteltyjä artikkeleita oli varsinaisessa hakuvaiheessa 988 ja lumipallo-otannassa 663, ja sovellettaessa valintakriteerejä niistä valikoitui tuloksiin 16 artikkelia. Tutkimus keskittyy pääsääntöisesti Euroopan alueeseen ja teollisuuden aloihin, ja artikkelit jakautuvat tasaisesti tarkastellulle ajalle. Yleisin luokittelu tutkimuksille oli evaluointitutkimus, ja käytettyjä tutkimusmenetelmiä oli useita. Menetelmien yhteisenä tekijänä on haastattelujen yleisyys. Synteesistä käy ilmi, että ammatillisen koulutuksen nykytilasta ja sen kehittämistarpeista on eriäviä näkemyksiä riippuen työnantajasta ja tämän tarpeesta.

Framework: The digitalization is advancing at increasing rate at the vocational education and training institutions. The digitalization has effects with the learning process of the student, skills needed as a citizen in the digitalized society and the substance skills of the occupation the student is learning. From the point of view of the student, the digitalization can be seen for example as new learning environments, digital communication or as new software programs or digital equipment related to the occupation. The most important client of the vocational education is the employers. The vocational education should be able to address the skill needs of the employing organizations. The needs of the employers are not completely unequivocal and clear when we are thinking about the skills what the employees should have in the future, concerning the competencies needed, when working in the digital environment. The employers have a different need, based on the single employer, or employers of the different field of occupations and the need is not completely similar, because the rate of the advance of the digitalization can be different between companies. There are also differences in the anticipating of the future and foresighting of the future needs. Objective and the method of the thesis: The main purpose of this thesis is to find out by means of the systematic mapping study and review of the result articles how the perspectives of the employers about the digitalization of the vocational education and training are studied in the field of scientific research, and what conclusions these result articles are providing about the current state of the vocational education and training compared with the employers’ needs and do these studies suggest any improvements to the vocational education and training. Results and the conclusions of the thesis: The results show that the research of the subject is limited. The result of the search consists of 988 articles, and there were additional 663 articles in the snowball-phase of the research, and only 16 articles were included in the mapping after applying the inclusion criteria. The studies are mostly conducted in Europe and the mainly researched field of employers are the industry sector and the studies are distributed evenly in the timeline of the research scope. Most of the studies are evaluation studies, and they are conducted with different methods. The most used method as a part of the study is the interview of the employers. As a result of the review, can be seen a difference between employers when addressing the question of the current state of the vocational education and training and the question about the suggestion for the improvements to the vocational education and training.
