Studies of ion transport in gases : applications in nuclear physics
This thesis is centred around the principle of the Ion Guide Isotope Separator On-Line (IGISOL). First, ion transportation in the IGISOL gas cell is studied. As the main result, a method is developed to simulate the evacuation of ions from the gas cell. Secondly, decay properties of neutron-deficient 23Al and 58Cu nuclei are examined using the IGISOL facility. The decay properties of 23Al are of astrophysical interest, while 58Cu decay is important for studies of Garnow-Teller strength.

A study of the helium-jet recoil-transport method and its application to on-line isotope separation
Äystö, Juha (1977)The helium-jet recoil-transport method and its coupling to the isotope separator on-line have been investigated. The dependence of the transport efficiency on several equipment parameters was studied both experimentally ... -

Quantum coherence in relativistic transport theory : applications to baryogenesis
Jukkala, Henri (Jyväskylän yliopisto, 2022)We derive field-theoretic local quantum transport equations which can describe quantum coherence. Our methods are based on Kadanoff–Baym equations derived in the Schwinger–Keldysh closed time path formalism of non-equilibrium ... -
Probing chemical freeze-out criteria in relativistic nuclear collisions with coarse grained transport simulations
Reichert, Tom; Inghirami, Gabriele; Bleicher, Marcus (Springer, 2020)We introduce a novel approach based on elastic and inelastic scattering rates to extract the hyper-surface of the chemical freeze-out from a hadronic transport model in the energy range from Elab = 1.23 AGeV to √sNN = 62.4 ...
