Giant octahedral M32 coordination cages were prepared via self-assembly of sulfonylcalix[4]arene-supported tetranuclear M(II) clusters (M = Co, Ni) with hybrid linker based on tris(dipyrrinato)cobalt(III) complexes appended with peripherical carboxylic groups. Due to intrinsic and extrinsic porosity, the obtained solid-state supramolecular architectures demonstrated good performance as adsorbents for the separation of industrially important gases mixtures.

Selective Laser Sintering of Metal-Organic Frameworks : Production of Highly Porous Filters by 3D Printing onto a Polymeric Matrix
Lahtinen, Elmeri; Precker, Rafaella; Lahtinen, Manu; Hey-Hawkins, Evamarie; Haukka, Matti (Wiley - VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 2019)Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) have raised a lot of interest, especially as adsorbing materials, because of their unique and well‐defined pore structures. One of the main challenges in the utilization of MOFs is their ... -
Fabrication of Porous Hydrogenation Catalysts by a Selective Laser Sintering 3D Printing Technique
Lahtinen, Elmeri; Turunen, Lotta; Hänninen, Mikko M.; Kolari, Kalle; Tuononen, Heikki M.; Haukka, Matti (American Chemical Society, 2019)Three-dimensional selective laser sintering printing was utilized to produce porous, solid objects, in which the catalytically active component, Pd/SiO2, is attached to an easily printable supporting polypropylene framework. ... -
Iron-based metal-organic framework : Synthesis, structure and current technologies for water reclamation with deep insight into framework integrity
Joseph, Jessy; Iftekhar, Sidra; Srivastava, Varsha; Fallah, Zari; Nazarzadeh Zare, Ehsan; Sillanpää, Mika (Elsevier, 2021)Water is a supreme requirement for the existence of life, the contamination from the point and non-point sources are creating a great threat to the water ecosystem. Advance tools and techniques are required to restore the ... -
Synthesis of isomorphous cobalt and nickel thiocyanate coordination compounds : effect of metals on compound properties
Hannachi, Anissa; Valkonen, Arto; Gómez García, Carlos J.; Rzaigui, Mohamed; Smirani, Wajda (Elsevier, 2019)The reaction of 2-methylpiperazine with the thiocyanate ligand and two transition metals leads to the production of two new isomorphous [ML2SCN4] where L is the 2-methylpiperazine and [M =Co (1), and Ni (2)], presenting ... -
Optimization of Selective Hydrometallurgical Tantalum Recovery from E-Waste Using Zeolites
Koskinen, Jutta; Frimodig, Janne; Samulinen, Mikko; Tiihonen, Antti; Siljanto, Jimi; Haukka, Matti; Väisänen, Ari (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2024)To protect future high-tech metal demand, a selective and efficient recovery method for tantalum from a tantalum-rich e-waste component sample was developed. Ultrasound-assisted digestion of the component sample was ...
