Hybridipilvipalveluiden käyttöönoton kriittiset menestystekijät

Abstract

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää hybridipilvipalveluiden onnistuneeseen käyttöönottoon liittyvät kriittiset menestystekijät. Kriittiset menestystekijät ovat asioita, joissa tavoitteen saavuttamiseksi on ehdottomasti onnistuttava. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostuu kahdeksasta hybridipilvipalveluita tarjoavan palveluntarjoajan haastatteluista, joissa haastateltavat kertovat kokemiaan kriittisiä menestystekijöitä kyseisten palveluiden käyttöönotoista asiakasyrityksissään. Empiirisen osuuden haastattelurunko on muodostettu tutkimuksen teoriaosuuden perusteella. Teoriaosuudessa määritellään kirjallisuuskatsauksen keinoin pilvipalvelut, kriittiset menestystekijät ja tietojärjestelmien käyttöönotto, joiden pohjalta muodostettiin kokonaiskuva tutkimuskohteesta sekä tutkimuksen empiirisen osuuden haastattelurunko. Tutkimus osoittaa, että haastateltavissa organisaatioissa hybridipilvipalveluiden kriittisiä menestystekijöitä ei ole juuri tutkittu, vaikka projektien onnistumiseen liittyviä tekijöitä tunnetaan hyvin. Haastatteluiden perusteella tunnistettiin viisitoista kriittisesti hybridipilvien käyttöönottoon liittyvää tekijää. Tulokset ovat yhteneviä aiempien informaatioteknologian alalla tehtyjen tutkimusten kanssa. Tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan päätellä, että hybridipilvipalveluiden käyttöönoton kriittiset menestystekijät ovat jokseenkin yhteneviä muiden tietojärjestelmien käyttöönottojen kanssa. Kriittiset menestystekijät ovat kuitenkin vahvasti tilannesidonnaisia ja subjektiivisia. Organisaatiokohtaiset kriittiset menestystekijät voidaan selvittää tutkimalla palveluntarjoajan ja asiakasyrityksen välistä suhdetta. Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitetään hybridipilvipalveluiden käyttöönoton kriittiset menestystekijät suomalaisten palveluntarjoajien näkökulmasta. Tämä on näkökulma, jota ei aiemmin ole tutkittu kirjallisuudessa. Tämän tutkimuksen avulla palveluntarjoajat voivat kehittää käytänteitään entisestään.

The aim of the study was to determine the critical success factors related to the successful deployment of hybrid cloud services. Critical success factors are the things that must go right if your project is to succeed. The research material of the study consists of interviews with eight service providers providing hybrid cloud services, in which the interviewees describe the critical success factors they have experienced in the implementation of these services in their customer companies. The framework of the empirical part is based on the theoretical part of the study. In the theoretical part, cloud services, critical success factors and the introduction of information systems were de-fined by means of a literature review. To form an overall picture of the research object and the interview framework of the empirical part of the research. The study showed that the critical success factors of hybrid cloud services in the interviewed organizations have not been studied much, although the fac-tors related to the success of the projects are well known. Based on the inter-views, fifteen critical factors related to the deployment of hybrid clouds were identified. The findings are consistent with previous research in the field of in-formation technology. Based on the study, it can be concluded that the critical success factors for the deployment of hybrid cloud services are somewhat consistent with the de-ployments of other information systems. However, the critical success factors are strongly situation-related and subjective. Organization-specific critical suc-cess factors can be determined by examining the relationship between the ser-vice provider and the customer company. This study investigated the critical success factors for the deployment of hybrid cloud services from the perspective of Finnish service providers. An as-pect not previously explored in the literature. This research will allow service providers to further develop their practices.
