We examine the proposed correlation between the neutron skin thickness
and the slope of the symmetry energy for two doubly-magic nuclei
(
100Sn and 132Sn) and find that a statistically significant correlation appears
to exist for 132Sn whilst no such correlation appears to exist for 100Sn.
Additionally, we present a new statistical tool based on random sampling
to assess the confidence interval of Pearson’s and Spearman’s correlation
coefficients in order to examine the aforementioned correlation. These estimators
are then used to quantify the statistical correlations among the
neutron skin thickness of atomic nuclei and the slope of the symmetry
energy in the infinite nuclear medium.

(EDP Sciences, 2018)Excited states in mirror nuclei 31S and 31P were populated in the 1n and 1p exit channels, respectively, of the reaction 20Ne + 12C. The beam of 20Ne, with an energy of 33 MeV, was delivered for the first time by the ... -
Isospin-symmetry breaking in masses of N ≃ Z nuclei
Ba̧czyk, P.; Dobaczewski, Jacek; Konieczka, M.; Satuła, W.; Nakatsukasa, T.; Sato, K. (Elsevier B.V., 2018)Effects of the isospin-symmetry breaking (ISB) beyond mean-field Coulomb terms are systematically studied in nuclear masses near the N = Z line. The Coulomb exchange contributions are calculated exactly. We use extended ... -

(American Physical Society, 2012)Reaction products from the system 136Xe+208Pb at 136Xe ions laboratory energies of 700, 870, and 1020 MeV were studied by two-body kinematics and by a catcher-foil activity analysis to explore the theoretically proposed ... -
Impact of the surface energy coefficient on the deformation properties of atomic nuclei as predicted by Skyrme energy density functionals
Ryssens, W.; Bender, M.; Bennaceur, Karim; Heenen, P.-H.; Meyer, J. (American Physical Society, 2019)Background: In the framework of nuclear energy density functional (EDF) methods, many nuclear phenomena are related to the deformation of intrinsic states. Their accurate modeling relies on the correct description of the ... -
