Preliminary results from beta decay studies of nuclei that are important for reactor applications are
presented. The beta decays have been studied using the total absorption technique (TAS) and the pure beams
provided by the JYFLTRAP system at the IGISOL facility of the University of Jyväskylä.

(American Physical Society (APS), 2020)In β-decay studies the determination of the decay probability to the ground state (g.s.) of the daughter nucleus often suffers from large systematic errors. The difficulty of the measurement is related to the absence of ... -
Precision measurement of the magnetic octupole moment in 45Sc as a test for state-of-the-art atomic- and nuclear-structure theory
de Groote, R.P.; Moreno, J.; Dobaczewsk,i J.; Koszorús, Á.; Moore, I.; Reponen, M.; Sahoo, B.K.; Yuan, C. (Elsevier BV, 2022)We report on measurements of the hyperfine A, B and C -constants of the 3d4s2 2 D5/2 and 3d4s2 2 D3/2 atomic states in 45Sc. High-precision atomic calculations of the hyperfine fields of these states and second-order ... -

Mimetic relationships between bodily movement and musical structure : theory, measurement, and application
Mendoza Garay, Juan Ignacio (Jyväskylän yliopisto, 2023)Music moves us. It moves our body and our feelings. One needs to move the respiratory tract to sing, hands and fingers to play a musical instrument, perhaps the whole body to dance along with music. Even when one doesn’t ...
