and
200 GeV with the PHENIX detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider are presented. At midrapidity,
A
N
is measured for neutral pion and eta mesons reconstructed from diphoton decay, and, at forward
rapidities, neutral pions are measured using both diphotons and electromagnetic clusters. The neutral-pion
measurement of
A
N
at midrapidity is consistent with zero with uncertainties a factor of 20 smaller than
previous publications, which will lead to improved constraints on the gluon Sivers function. At higher
rapidities, where the valence quark distributions are probed, the data exhibit sizable asymmetries. In
comparison with previous measurements in this kinematic region, the new data extend the kinematic
coverage in
ffiffiffi
s
p
and
p
T
, and it is found that the asymmetries depend only weakly on
ffiffiffi
s
p
. The origin of the
forward
A
N
is presently not understood quantitatively. The extended reach to higher

T
probes the
transition between transverse momentum dependent effects at low
p
T
and multiparton dynamics at high
p
T
.

Inclusive J/𝜓 production in forward proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at high energy
Gimeno-Estivill, Patricia; Lappi, Tuomas; Mäntysaari, Heikki (American Physical Society, 2024)We calculate the cross section for forward J/𝜓 production in proton-proton and minimum bias proton-lead collisions using the color glass condensate (CGC) and nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) formalism consistently with deep ... -
Prompt and non-prompt J/ψ production cross sections at midrapidity in proton-proton collisions at √s = 5.02 and 13 TeV
ALICE collaboration (Springer, 2022)The production of J/ψ is measured at midrapidity (|y| < 0.9) in proton-proton collisions at √s = 5.02 and 13 TeV, through the dielectron decay channel, using the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The data sets ... -
Direct photon production at low transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at √s = 2.76 and 8 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2019)Measurements of inclusive and direct photon production at midrapidity in pp collisions at √s=2.76 and 8 TeV are presented by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The results are reported in transverse momentum ranges of 0.4<pT<10 ... -
Multiplicity dependence of (multi-)strange hadron production in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Springer, 2020)The production rates and the transverse momentum distribution of strange hadrons at mid-rapidity (|y|<0.5) are measured in proton-proton collisions at s√ = 13 TeV as a function of the charged particle multiplicity, using ... -
Nuclear Dependence of the Transverse-Single-Spin Asymmetry for Forward Neutron Production in Polarized p+A Collisions at √sNN = 200 GeV
PHENIX Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2018)During 2015, the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) provided collisions of transversely polarized protons with Au and Al nuclei for the first time, enabling the exploration of transverse-single-spin asymmetries with ...
