Optimal control for state constrained two-phase Stefan problems
(Birkhäuser, 1991)
We give a new approach to state constrained control problems associated to non-degenerate nonlinear parabolic equations of Stefan type. We obtain uniform estimates for the violation of the constraints.
On the convergence of the finite element approximation of eigenfrequencies and eigenvectors to Maxwell's boundary value problem
(Suomalainen tiedeakatemia, 1981)
Sorvipöllin keskittämismenetelmien vertailu tietokonesimulointia käyttäen
(Suomen paperi- ja puutavaralehti, 1983)
Kolmea erilaista sorvipuun keskittämismenetelmää vertaillaan tietokonesimulointia apuna käyttäen. Vertailtavana on kaksi standardiratkaisuihin perustuvaa menetelmää sekä uusi, Schauman Engineeringin kehittämä menetelmä. ...
Superconvergence phenomenon in the finite element method arising from averaging gradients
(Springer, 1984)
We study a superconvergence phenomenon which can be obtained when solving a 2nd order elliptic problem by the usual linear elements. The averaged gradient is a piecewise linear continuous vector field, the value of which ...
Metallin jatkuvavaluprosessin simulointi ja säätö
(Suomen fyysikkoseura, 1988)
Drops moving in flow with chernical reaction
(J. Wiley & Sons, 1994)
We propose a free boundary model described
by coupled Navier-Stokes and chemical reaction equations
with discontinuous coefRcients to simulate the chemical re-
¿ctions in viscous drops moving in a viscous incompressible
ûuid. ...
Culture, international business, and knowledge systems minitrack
(University of Hawai'i at Manoa, 2020)
This minitrack explores the impact and role of
culture on managing knowledge and designing and
implementing knowledge systems within local and
global groups and organizations. This is crucial for
instance for ...
Optimal shape design and unilateral boundary value problems. I.
(Wiley, 1988)
In the first part we give a general existence theorem and a regularization method for an optimal control problem where the control is a domain in R″ and where the system is governed by a state relation which includes ...
On the FEM-based Simulation and Application to Solidification Process
(Institute of Physics Publishing Ltd, 1990)
The usual scheme for solving a real-world problem by using finite element method (FEM) is presented. The FE-method is applied for calculating the temperature field and shell thickness in continuous casting process. The ...
Computer aided optimal structural design
(Springer, 1991)
The primary problem often facing designers of structural systems is determining the shape of the structure. The goal in structural optimization is to computerize the design process and therefore shorten the time it takes ...
