The purpose for the research was to investigate the role of directors of childcare centres in construction of job-wellbeing and examine the behavior and practices that leaders express to develop the job-wellbeing in the early childooh education settings. Especially, job-wellbeing and engagement for teachers of early childhood education and care (ECEC) have been under discussion for extended time in Finland. The aim of the research was to develope concrete methods and tools for guidance to leadership to advance the job-wellbeing in the work community to confirm work engagement of teachers in ECEC. The research was conducted with two content analysises based on previous studies and research material. The content analysis based on previous studies affected on questions in structured interview. The research informants are childcare centres directors and employees selected by nationwide random sampling. Six examinees participated in the research. There are four dimensions to be found in the research framework that affects wellbeing at work: leadership of job-wellbeing, societal factors of job-wellbeing, social dimension of job-wellbeing and psychological dimension of job-wellbeing. The analysis of research material was construcred by categorizing simplified phrases found in dimensions of job-wellbeing. The research results were viewed in early childhood education context. Content analysises contructs deeper understanding of factors that daycare directors could use to promote their employeers job-wellbeing. It can be stated based on the result that the leaders behavior, interaction and developing trustworthy relationship with employeers is significant for the wellbeing of the entire working community. Positive mindset and taking care of each own wellbeing provides for job-wellbeing and leaders actions behind. The research creates concrete quidance for leaders for their own development as well as enhancing the job-wellbeing in their community....

The purpose of this study is to tell the story of a renewal in one Finnish private school and to try to find out and understand the way it was done. The research is qualitative and uses grounded theory methodology in constructing a theory from data. Following the grounded theory procedures was developed the theory of renewal introducing seven overlapping points. The points are: acknowledgement of the crisis, innovative problem solving, new resources, new leadership, new operations, new structure, and new culture. The critical stage in the theory is the first stage because it is there that the administrator becomes either the facilitator for the change or resists the change. The appropriate choises by the administrative agent will then lead to the changes needed to adapt to the environment’s pressures....
