We present new NLO pQCD predictions for photoproduction of dijets in ultraperipheral PbPb collisions at 5.02 TeV with a realistic photon flux and up-to-date nuclear PDFs. Our calculation of the impact parameter dependence of the photon flux includes the effects of the nuclear form factor in the photon-emitting nucleus and the spatial dependence of nuclear PDFs of the target nucleus, which are estimated using the Wood-Saxon nuclear density profile. We show that a significant portion of the measured dijets at large zγ originate from events with impact parameters of the order of a few nuclear radii, and that the cross section predictions therefore become sensitive to the modelling of the nuclear geometry and photon flux close to the source nucleus.

Measurement of the impact-parameter dependent azimuthal anisotropy in coherent ρ0 photoproduction in Pb−Pb collisions at √sNN= 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Elsevier, 2024)The first measurement of the impact-parameter dependent angular anisotropy in the decay of coherently photoproduced ρ0 mesons is presented. The ρ0 mesons are reconstructed through their decay into a pion pair. The measured ... -
Impact parameter dependent JIMWLK evolution meets HERA data
Mäntysaari, H.; Schenke, B. (Sissa Medialab srl, 2019)We calculate the small-x evolution of protons with finite size by solving numerically the JIMWLK evolution equation. The initial condition is constrained by the HERA measurements of charm reduced cross section and of ... -
Confronting the impact parameter dependent JIMWLK evolution with HERA data
Mäntysaari, Heikki; Schenke, Björn (American Physical Society, 2018)The small-x evolution of protons is determined from numerical solutions of the JIMWLK equations, starting from an initial condition at moderate x for a finite size proton. The resulting dipole amplitude is used to calculate ... -
Impact of cross-section uncertainties on supernova neutrino spectral parameter fitting in the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment
DUNE Collaboration (American Physical Society (APS), 2023)A primary goal of the upcoming Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is to measure the O(10) MeV neutrinos produced by a Galactic core-collapse supernova if one should occur during the lifetime of the experiment. ... -
Energy dependence of exclusive J/ψ photoproduction off protons in ultra-peripheral p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2019)The ALICE Collaboration has measured the energy dependence of exclusive photoproduction of J/ψJ/ψ vector mesons off proton targets in ultra–peripheral p–Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair ...
