We show that the amplitude or Higgs mode of a superconductor with strong spin-orbit coupling and an exchange field, couples linearly to the electromagnetic field. Furthermore, by coupling such a superconductor to an LC resonator, we demonstrate that the Higgs resonance becomes a regular mode at frequencies smaller than the quasiparticle energy threshold 20. We finally propose and discuss a possible experiment based on microwave spectroscopy for an unequivocal detection of the Higgs mode. Our approach may allow visualizing Higgs modes also in more complicated multiband superconductors with a coupling between the charge and other electronic degrees of freedom.

Dynamic Spin-Triplet Order Induced by Alternating Electric Fields in Superconductor-Ferromagnet-Superconductor Josephson Junctions
Bobkova, I. V.; Bobkov, A. M.; Silaev, M. A. (American Physical Society (APS), 2021)Dynamic states offer extended possibilities to control the properties of quantum matter. Recent efforts are focused on studying the ordered states which appear exclusively under the time-dependent drives. Here, we demonstrate ... -
Effect of disorder on Majorana localization in topological superconductors : A quasiclassical approach
Lu, Yao; Virtanen, Pauli; Heikkilä, Tero T. (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)Two-dimensional (2D) topological superconductors (TS) host chiral Majorana modes (MMs) localized at the boundaries. In this work, we study the effect of disorder on the localization length of MMs in two-dimensional spin-orbit ... -
Field-induced coexistence of s++ and s± superconducting states in dirty multiband superconductors
Garaud, Julien; Corticelli, Alberto; Silaev, Mikhail; Babaev, Egor (American Physical Society, 2018)In multiband systems, such as iron-based superconductors, the superconducting states with locking and antilocking of the interband phase differences are usually considered as mutually exclusive. For example, a dirty two-band ... -
Coexistence of superconductivity and spin-splitting fields in superconductor/ferromagnetic insulator bilayers of arbitrary thickness

T.; Khorshidian, S.; Spies, M.; Ligato, N.; Giazotto, F.; Strambini, E.; Bergeret, F. Sebastián (American Physical Society (APS), 2021)Ferromagnetic insulators (FI) can induce a strong exchange field in an adjacent superconductor (S) via the magnetic proximity effect. This manifests as spin splitting of the BCS density of states of the superconductor, an ... -
Large enhancement of spin pumping due to the surface bound states in normal metal–superconductor structures
Silaev, Mikhail (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)We show that the spin pumping from ferromagnetic insulator into the adjacent metallic spin sink can be strongly stimulated by the superconducting correlations. The key physical mechanism responsible for this effect is the ...
