The prospects of measuring a single-differential dijet cross section during the proposed short proton-oxygen data taking at LHC Run 3 are studied using next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD predictions. With reasonable experimental cuts and luminosity estimates, such a measurement is found to be feasible, and a few inverse nanobarns of integrated luminosity is estimated to be enough to yield new constraints on parton distribution functions (PDFs) of light nuclei. In the absence of a dedicated proton-proton reference, a mixed-energy nuclear modification ratio is proposed for canceling free-proton PDF uncertainties to obtain a direct access to the nuclear modifications of the parton distributions in oxygen.

Prompt and non-prompt J/ψ production cross sections at midrapidity in proton-proton collisions at √s = 5.02 and 13 TeV
ALICE collaboration (Springer, 2022)The production of J/ψ is measured at midrapidity (|y| < 0.9) in proton-proton collisions at √s = 5.02 and 13 TeV, through the dielectron decay channel, using the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The data sets ... -
Dielectron production in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2020)The first measurements of dielectron production at midrapidity (|ηe| < 0.8) in proton–proton and proton–lead collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV at the LHC are presented. The dielectron cross section is measured with the ALICE ... -
Measurement of beauty-quark production in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV via non-prompt D mesons
ALICE collaboration (Springer Nature, 2024)The pT-differential production cross sections of non-prompt D0, D+, and D+s mesons originating from beauty-hadron decays are measured in proton−proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy √s=13 TeV. The measurements are ... -
Charm production and fragmentation fractions at midrapidity in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV
ALICE collaboration (Springer Nature, 2023)Measurements of the production cross sections of prompt D0, D+, D∗+, D+s, Λ+c, and Ξ+c charm hadrons at midrapidity in proton−proton collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ALICE detector are presented. The D-meson cross sections ... -
