A complete calculation of the nuclear matrix elements (NME) for Majoron emitting neutrinoless double beta decay within the framework of IBM-2 for spectral indices n=1,3,7 is presented. By combining the results of this calculation with previously calculated phase space factors (PSF) we give predictions for expected half-lives. By comparing with experimental limits on the half-lives we set limits on the coupling constants ⟨gMee⟩ of all proposed Majoron-emitting models.

Comparative Analysis of Nuclear Matrix Elements of 0νβ+β+ Decay and Muon Capture in 106Cd
Jokiniemi, Lotta; Suhonen, Jouni; Kotila, Jenni (Frontiers Media SA, 2021)Comparative analyses of the nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) related to the 0νβ+β+ decay of 106Cd to the ground state of 106Pd and the ordinary muon capture (OMC) in 106Cd are performed. This is the first time the OMC NMEs ... -
Comparison of Microscopic Interacting Boson Model and Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation 0νββ Decay Nuclear Matrix Elements
Kotila, Jenni (Frontiers Media SA, 2021)The fundamental nature of the neutrino is presently a subject of great interest. A way to access the absolute mass scale and the fundamental nature of the neutrino is to utilize the atomic nuclei through their rare decays, ... -
Spectral shapes of second-forbidden single-transition nonunique β decays assessed using the nuclear shell model
Ramalho, Marlom; Suhonen, Jouni; Neacsu, Andrei; Stoica, Sabin (Frontiers Media, 2024)Experimental and theoretical studies of β electrons (electrons emitted in β−-decaytransitions) and their β-electron spectra have recently experienced a rapid expansion. These β spectral shapes have been used to study total ... -

(Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2022)The 98Mo double-beta decay Q-value has been measured, and the corresponding nuclear matrix elements of neutrinoless double-beta (0νββ) decay and the standard two-neutrino double-beta (2νββ) decay have been provided by ... -
Single Particle Levels and ββ-Decay Matrix Elements in The Interacting Boson Model
Barea, J.; Kotila, Jenni-Mari (IOP Publishing, 2018)Recently a new method to calculate the occupancies of single particle levels in atomic nuclei was developed in the context of the microscopic interacting boson model, in which neutron and proton degrees of freedom are ...
