dc.description.abstractThis article discusses the significance of CLIL education from the students’ perspective. Two former CLIL students, who received extensive English CLIL education in primary school in 1990s, were interviewed during the summer 2016. The purpose of this pilot study was to investigate the memories they had of CLIL and how they perceived its influence on their life courses. The interviews were analysed using thematic analysis with a theory-oriented framework. CLIL education had been a highly positive experience to both and they believed it had influenced their life courses pervasively. Due to CLIL, English had become an inherent part of their lives. CLIL had guided their professional choices and had affected their attitudes towards cultures. The study provides valuable insights into the long-term effects of CLIL on individuals’ identity and life course. The results of this case study encourage investigating this theme further.en
