The parton distribution functions (PDFs) of heavy mesons are evaluated from their light-front wave functions, which are obtained from a basis light-front quantization in the leading Fock sector representation. We consider the mass eigenstates from an effective Hamiltonian consisting of the confining potential adopted from light-front holography in the transverse direction, a longitudinal confinement, and a one-gluon exchange interaction with running coupling. We present the gluon and the sea quark PDFs which we generate dynamically from the QCD evolution of the valence quark distributions.

Ultrarelativistic quark-nucleus scattering in a light-front Hamiltonian approach
Li, Meijian; Zhao, Xingbo; Maris, Pieter; Chen, Guangyao; Li, Yang; Tuchin, Kirill; Vary, James P. (American Physical Society, 2020)We investigate the scattering of a quark on a heavy nucleus at high energies using the time-dependent basis light-front quantization (tBLFQ) formalism, which is the first application of the tBLFQ formalism in QCD. We present ... -
Applicability of pion–nucleus Drell–Yan data in global analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions
Paakkinen, Petja; Eskola, Kari; Paukkunen, Hannu (Elsevier B.V., 2017)Despite the success of modern nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) in describing nuclear hard-process data, they still suffer from large uncertainties. One of the poorly constrained features is the possible asymmetry ... -
NNLO nuclear parton distribution functions with electroweak-boson production data from the LHC
Helenius, Ilkka; Walt, Marina; Vogelsang, Werner (American Physical Society (APS), 2022)We present new sets of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) at next-to-leading order and next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD. Our analyses are based on deeply inelastic scattering data with charged-lepton ... -
Nuclear Parton Distribution Functions After the First Decade of LHC Data
Klasen, Michael; Paukkunen, Hannu (Annual Reviews, 2024)We present a review of the conceptual basis, current knowledge, and recent progress regarding global analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions (PDFs). After introducing the theoretical foundations and methodological ... -
Numerical evaluation of the nonlinear Gribov-Levin-Ryskin-Mueller-Qiu evolution equations for nuclear parton distribution functions
Rausch, J.; Guzey, V.; Klasen, M. (American Physical Society (APS), 2023)We numerically study for the first time the nonlinear GLR-MQ evolution equations for nuclear parton distribution function (nPDFs) to next-to-leading order accuracy and quantify the impact of gluon recombination at small ...
