The PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider has measured the differential cross section, mean transverse momentum, mean transverse momentum squared of inclusive J/ψ, and cross section ratio of ψ(2S) to J/ψ at forward rapidity in p+p collisions at √s=510 GeV via the dimuon decay channel. Comparison is made to inclusive J/ψ cross sections measured at √s=200 GeV and 2.76–13 TeV. The result is also compared to leading-order nonrelativistic QCD calculations coupled to a color-glass-condensate description of the low-x gluons in the proton at low transverse momentum (pT) and to next-to-leading order nonrelativistic QCD calculations for the rest of the pT range. These calculations overestimate the data at low pT. While consistent with the data within uncertainties above ≈3 GeV/c, the calculations are systematically below the data. The total cross section times the branching ratio is BR dσJ/ψpp/dy(1.2<|y|<2.2,0

ϕ meson production at forward rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2018)φ meson measurements provide insight into strangeness production, which is one of the key observables for the hot medium formed in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. ALICE measured φ production through its decay in muon ... -
Forward rapidity isolated photon production in proton-nucleus collisions
Ducloué, B.; Lappi, Tuomas; Mäntysaari, Heikki (Elsevier BV, 2019)We calculate isolated photon production at forward rapidities in proton-nucleus collisions in the Color Glass Condensate framework. Our calculation uses dipole cross sections solved from the running coupling Balitsky-Kovchegov ... -
Study of very forward energy and its correlation with particle production at midrapidity in pp and p-Pb collisions at the LHC
ALICE collaboration (Springer, 2022)The energy deposited at very forward rapidities (very forward energy) is a powerful tool for characterising proton fragmentation in pp and p-Pb collisions. The correlation of very forward energy with particle production ... -
Energy dependence of ϕ meson production at forward rapidity in pp collisions at the LHC
ALICE Collaboration (Springer, 2021)The production of ϕ mesons has been studied in pp collisions at LHC energies with the ALICE detector via the dimuon decay channel in the rapidity region 2.5<4. Measurements of the differential cross section d2σ/dydpT are ... -
Production of b¯b at forward rapidity in p+p collisions at √s = 510 GeV
PHENIX Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2020)The cross section of bottom quark-antiquark (b¯b) production in p+p collisions at √s=510 GeV is measured with the PHENIX detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The results are based on the yield of high mass, ...
