The study of the strength and behavior of the antikaon-nucleon ((K) over bar N) interaction constitutes one of the key focuses of the strangeness sector in low-energy quantum chromodynamics (QCD). In this Letter a unique high-precision measurement of the strong interaction between kaons and protons, close and above the kinematic threshold, is presented. The femtoscopic measurements of the correlation function at low pair-frame relative momentum of (K+ p circle plus K- (p) over bar) and (K- p circle plus K+ (p) over bar) pairs measured in pp collisions at root s = 5, 7, and 13 TeV are reported. A structure observed around a relative momentum of 58 MeV/c in the measured correlation function of (K- p circle plus K+ (p) over bar) with a significance of 4.4 sigma constitutes the first experimental evidence for the opening of the ((K) over bar (0)(n) circle plus K-0 (n) over bar) breaking channel due to the mass difference between charged and neutral kaons. The measured correlation functions have been compared to Julich and Kyoto models in addition to the Coulomb potential. The high-precision data at low relative momenta presented in this work prove femtoscopy to be a powerful complementary tool to scattering experiments and provide new constraints above the (K) over barN threshold for low-energy QCD chiral models. ...

Double D-meson production in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at the LHC Helenius, Ilkka; Paukkunen, Hannu (Elsevier BV, 2020)We consider the simultaneous production of two heavy-flavoured hadrons – particularly D mesons – at the LHC. We base our calculations on collinearly factorized QCD at next-to-leading order, using the contemporary parton ...
Z-boson production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 8.16 TeV and Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV ALICE collaboration (Springer, 2020)Measurement of Z-boson production in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 8.16 TeV and Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV is reported. It is performed in the dimuon decay channel, through the detection of muons with pseudorapidity ...
Dielectron and heavy-quark production in inelastic and high-multiplicity proton–proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV ALICE Collaboration (Elsevier B.V., 2019)The measurement of dielectron production is presented as a function of invariant mass and transverse momentum (pT) at midrapidity (|ye| < 0.8) in proton–proton (pp) collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of √s = 13 TeV. ...
Direct photon production at low transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at √s = 2.76 and 8 TeV ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2019)Measurements of inclusive and direct photon production at midrapidity in pp collisions at √s=2.76 and 8 TeV are presented by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The results are reported in transverse momentum ranges of 0.4<pT<10 ...
p−p, p−Λ, and Λ−Λ correlations studied via femtoscopy in pp reactions at √s = 7 TeV ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2019)We report on the first femtoscopic measurement of baryon pairs, such as p−p, p−Λ, and Λ−Λ, measured by ALICE at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in proton-proton collisions at √s=7 TeV. This study demonstrates the feasibility ...
