Original data for article: Comparison of epifluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry in counting freshwater picophytoplankton
Downloads:
Authors
Date
2019The dataset is divided into four subfolders:
1) "SEM experiment data" contains Scanning Electron Microscopy data, epifluorescence microscopy data and flow cytometry data of cultured Synechococcus, Chroococcus and Snowella
2) "raw data" contains epifluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry data of picophytoplankton from Finnish lakes. This has two sub folders "flow cytometry raw" and "microscopy raw"
3) "flow cytometry calibration data" contains data for cell size calibration with latex beads and volumetric calibration for the flow cytometer
4) "processed flow and microscopy data" contains excel workbooks for the figures shown in the manuscipt

Original data for publication: Differences in parasite community composition support ecological differentiation in a freshwater gadoid fish
Horppila, Petteri; Ryynänen, Lauri; Karvonen, Anssi; Miettinen, Miikka; Kuitunen, Jere; Marjomäki, Timo (2022)The data file contains original data from burbot (Lota lota), captured from two sampling depths, littoral and profundal, in Lake Konnevesi during the breeding season of the fish in 2019-2020. The other variables indicate ... -
Spectroscopic analysis used to uncover the original paint colour of the Helsinki Government Palace tower clock faces
Castro, Kepa; Knuutinen, Ulla; Vallejuelo, Silvia Fdez-Ortiz de; Maguregui, Maite; Madariaga, Juan Manuel; Laakso, Raili (BioMed Central Ltd., 2016)The paint stratigraphy of the two clock faces from the tower clock of the Government Palace in Helsinki (Finland) was analysed in order to determine their original colour before restoration works. Paint cross-section ... -

Original data for article: Weak warning signals can persist in the absence of gene flow
Lawrence, Justin P.; Rojas, Bibiana; Fouquet, Antoine; Mappes, Johanna; Blanchette, Annelise; Saporito, Ralph; Bosque, Renan J.; Courtois, Elodie; Noonan, Brice P. (University of Jyväskylä, Open Science Centre. jyx@jyu.fi, 2019)Aposematic organisms couple conspicuous warning signals with a secondary defense to deter predators from attacking. Novel signals of aposematic prey are expected to be selected against due to positive frequency-dependent ... -
Original data for article: Acute and chronic response to a change in salinity of the euryhaline polychaete Pygospio elegans (Claparède)
Thonig, Anne; Banta, Gary Thomas; Gibon, Stéphane; Kesäniemi, Jenni; Winding Hansen, Benni; Knott, K. Emily (University of Jyväskylä, Open Science Centre. jyx@jyu.fi, 2019)These data were collected in an experimental study designed to evaluate the ability of the polychaete Pygospio elegans to cope with an acute as well as a long-term change in salinity. Specimens from Herslev, Denmark, ...
