We simulate coherent driven free dissipative Kerr nonlinear system numerically using Euler's method by solving Heisenberg equation of motion and time evolving block decimation (TEBD) algorithm, and demonstrate how the numerical results are analogous to classical bistability. The comparison with analytics show that the TEBD numerics follow the quantum mechanical exact solution obtained by mapping the equation of motion of the density matrix of the system to a Fokker-Plank equation. Comparing between two different numerical techniques, we see that the semi-classical Euler's method gives the dynamics of the system field of one among two coherent branches, whereas TEBD numerics generate the superposition of both of them. Therefore, the time dynamics determined by TEBD numerical method undergoes through a non-classical state which is also shown by determining second order correlation function.

Enhanced Nonlinear Optical Responses in MoS2 via Femtosecond Laser‐Induced Defect‐Engineering
Akkanen, Suvi‐Tuuli M.; Arias‐Muñoz, Juan C.; Emelianov, Aleksei V.; Mentel, Kamila K.; Tammela, Juhani V.; Partanen, Mikko; Das, Susobhan; Faisal, Ahmed; Pettersson, Mika; Sun, Zhipei (Wiley, 2024)2D materials are a promising platform for applications in many fields as they possess a plethora of useful properties that can be further optimized by careful engineering, for example, by defect introduction. While reliable ... -
Discrete exterior calculus for photonic crystal waveguides
Mönkölä, Sanna; Räty, Joona (John Wiley & Sons, 2023)The discrete exterior calculus (DEC) is very promising, though not yet widely used, discretization method for photonic crystal (PC) waveguides. It can be seen as a generalization of the finite difference time domain (FDTD) ... -
Signatures and characterization of dominating Kerr nonlinearity between two driven systems with application to a suspended magnetic beam
Sokolov, Andrii M.; Heikkilä, Tero T. (American Physical Society (APS), 2024)We consider a model of two harmonically driven damped harmonic oscillators that are coupled linearly and with a cross-Kerr coupling. We show how to distinguish this combination of coupling types from the case where a ... -
Time-Linear Quantum Transport Simulations with Correlated Nonequilibrium Green’s Functions
Tuovinen, R.; Pavlyukh, Y.; Perfetto, E.; Stefanucci, G. (American Physical Society (APS), 2023)We present a time-linear scaling method to simulate open and correlated quantum systems out of equilibrium. The method inherits from many-body perturbation theory the possibility to choose selectively the most relevant ... -
Diamagnetic susceptibility from a nonadiabatic path-integral simulation of few-electron systems
Tolvanen, Alpi; Tiihonen, Juha; Rantala, Tapio T. (American Physical Society (APS), 2022)Diamagnetism is the response of dynamical compositions of charged particles, electrons, and nuclei, to an incident magnetic field. In this paper, we study how the finite temperature and finite nuclear masses affect the ...
