A fixed domain approach is presented for solving an optimal shape design problem governed by the transmission problem. In the proposed method the original optimal shape design problem is converted to a control problem in a fixed domain. Results of numerical tests are presented.

In this work, in silico selection of DNA-aptamers to the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein was performed using molecular modeling methods. Material and methods. A ... -
Fixed domain approaches in shape optimization problems with Dirichlet boundary conditions
Neittaanmäki, Pekka; Pennanen, Anssi; Tiba, Dan (IOP Publishing, 2009)Fixed domain methods have well-known advantages in the solution of variable domain problems including inverse interface problems. This paper examines two new control approaches to optimal design problems governed by general ... -

Shape optimization in contact problems. 1. Design of an elastic body. 2. Design of an elastic perfectly plastic body
Haslinger, Jaroslav; Neittaanmäki, Pekka; Tiihonen, Timo (Springer, 1986)The optimal shape design of a two dimensional body on a rigid foundation is analyzed. The problem is how to find the boundary part of the body where the unilateral boundary conditions are assumed in such a way that a certain ... -
Designing a Simple Folder Structure for a Complex Domain
Clemmensen, Torkil (University of Jyväskylä, Agora Center, 2011)In this paper I explore a case of designing a simple folder structure for a new e-learning software program for a university study program. The aim is to contribute to the theoretical base for human work interaction ...
