Mono- and tetra-deprotonated 2-methylresorcinarene anions (1 and 2) as their trans-1,4-diammoniumcyclohexane (TDAC)2+ inclusion complexes are reported. The mono-anion forms a fully closed dimeric capsule [1·H2O·MeOH]22− with a cavity volume of 165 Å3 and (TDAC)2+ as the guest with an extremely high packing coefficient, PC = 84.2%, while the tetra-anion forms a close-packed structure with two structurally isomeric tetra-anions 2a and 2b with a 50 : 50 ratio in the crystal lattice.

Surprising solvent-induced structural rearrangements in large [N⋯I+⋯N] halogen-bonded supramolecular capsules : an ion mobility-mass spectrometry study
Warzok, Ulrike; Marianski, Mateusz; Hoffmann, Waldemar; Turunen, Lotta; Rissanen, Kari; Pagel, Kevin; Schalley, Christoph A. (Royal Society of Chemistry, 2018)Coordinative halogen bonds have recently gained interest for the assembly of supramolecular capsules. Ion mobility-mass spectrometry and theoretical calculations now reveal the well-defined gas-phase structures of dimeric ... -
Examining stability of independent component analysis based on coefficient and component matrices for voxel-based morphometry of structural magnetic resonance imaging
Zhang, Qing; Hu, Guoqiang; Tian, Lili; Ristaniemi, Tapani; Wang, Huili; Chen, Hongjun; Wu, Jianlin; Cong, Fengyu (Springer Netherlands, 2018)Independent component analysis (ICA) on group-level voxel-based morphometry (VBM) produces the coefficient matrix and the component matrix. The former contains variability among multiple subjects for further statistical ... -
3D Zinc–Organic Frameworks Based on Mixed Thiophene Dicarboxylate and 4-Amino-3,5-bis(4-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole Linkers : Syntheses, Structural Diversity, and Single-Crystal-to-Single-Crystal Transformations
Mahajan, Shreya; Lahtinen, Manu (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2024)In this study, for the first time two new interpenetrated 3D pillared-layer metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), namely, {[Zn(bpt)(tdc)]·dmf}n (MOF-1-Zn) and {[Zn2(bpt)(tdc)2]·2(dmf)}n (MOF-2-Zn), as well as a homochiral 3D ... -
Halogen bond in crystal engineering : structural studies on crystals with neutral ruthenium centered complexes and 1-(4-pyridyl)-4-thiopyridine zwitterion as halogen bond acceptors
Ding, Xin (Jyväskylän yliopisto, 2020)This work focuses on using both ruthenium complexes and a newly synthesized organic zwitterion as halogen bond (XB) acceptors to construct a series of crystal structures and to investigate the selectivity of halogen bond. ... -

(International Union of Crystallography, 2018)Phytochromes are red-light photoreceptors that were first characterized in plants, with homologs in photosynthetic and non-photosynthetic bacteria known as bacteriophytochromes (BphPs). Upon absorption of light, BphPs ...
