Measurements of charged jet production as a
function of centrality are presented for p–Pb collisions
recorded at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector. Centrality
classes are determined via the energy deposit in neutron
calorimeters at zero degree, close to the beam direction,
to minimise dynamical biases of the selection. The corresponding
number of participants or binary nucleon–nucleon
collisions is determined based on the particle production in
the Pb-going rapidity region. Jets have been reconstructed
in the central rapidity region from charged particles with
the anti-kT algorithm for resolution parameters R = 0.2 and
R = 0.4 in the transverse momentum range 20 to 120 GeV/c.
The reconstructed jet momentum and yields have been corrected
for detector effects and underlying-event background.
In the five centrality bins considered, the charged jet production
in p–Pb collisions is consistent with the production
expected from binary scaling from pp collisions. The
ratio of jet yields reconstructed with the two different resolution
parameters is also independent of the centrality selection,
demonstrating the absence of major modifications of
the radial jet structure in the reported centrality classes.

Centrality and rapidity dependence of inclusive pion and prompt photon production in p+Pb collisions at the LHC with EPS09s nPDFs
Helenius, Ilkka; Eskola, Kari; Paukkunen, Hannu (Institute of Physics Publishing Ltd., 2015)The centrality dependencies of the inclusive neutral pion and prompt photon nuclear modification factors for p+Pb collisions at the LHC are studied using a spatially dependent set of nuclear PDFs, EPS09s. The calculations ... -
Forward J/ψ production in pA collisions : centrality dependence
Ducloue, Bertrand; Lappi, Tuomas; Mäntysaari, H. (Sissa, 2016)The nuclear suppression of forward J/ψ production in high energy proton-nucleus collisions can be used as a probe of gluon saturation at small x. In an earlier work we studied this suppression in minimum bias collisions ... -
Centrality-dependent forward J/ψ production in high energy proton-nucleus collisions
Ducloue, Bertrand; Lappi, Tuomas; Mäntysaari, H. (EDP Sciences, 2016)Forward J/ψ production and suppression in high energy proton-nucleus collisions can be an important probe of gluon saturation. In an earlier work we studied this process in the Color Glass Condensate framework and showed ... -
Centrality-Dependent Modification of Jet-Production Rates in Deuteron-Gold Collisions at √sNN = 200 GeV
PHENIX Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2016)Jet production rates are measured in p þ p and d þ Au collisions at √sNN = 200 GeV recorded in 2008 with the PHENIX detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Jets are reconstructed using the R ¼ 0.3 anti-kt ... -
Centrality dependence of particle production in p−Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2015)We report measurements of the primary charged-particle pseudorapidity density and transverse momentum distributions in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV and investigate their correlation with experimental observables ...
