The resonant neutrinoless double electron-capture (R0νECEC) is discussed from
the point of view of the resonance condition and the involved nuclear matrix elements. A brief
outline of the involved theory framework is given. The present status of measurements of the
involved atomic masses and possible R0νECEC candidates is reviewed.

Comparative Analysis of Nuclear Matrix Elements of 0νβ+β+ Decay and Muon Capture in 106Cd
Jokiniemi, Lotta; Suhonen, Jouni; Kotila, Jenni (Frontiers Media SA, 2021)Comparative analyses of the nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) related to the 0νβ+β+ decay of 106Cd to the ground state of 106Pd and the ordinary muon capture (OMC) in 106Cd are performed. This is the first time the OMC NMEs ... -
Neutrinoless double-electron capture
Blaum, K.; Eliseev, S.; Danevich, F. A.; Tretyak, V. I.; Kovalenko, Sergey; Krivoruchenko, M. I.; Novikov, Yu. N.; Suhonen, J. (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)Double-beta processes play a key role in the exploration of neutrino and weak interaction properties, and in the searches for effects beyond the standard model. During the last half century many attempts were undertaken ... -
Pinning down the strength function for ordinary muon capture on 100Mo
Jokiniemi, Lotta; Suhonen, Jouni; Ejiri, H.; Hashim, I. H. (North-Holland; Elsevier, 2019)Ordinary muon capture (OMC) on 100Mo is studied both experimentally and theoretically in order to access the weak responses in wide energy and momentum regions. The OMC populates states in 100Nb up to some 50 MeV in ... -
Search for Electron-Capture Delayed Fission in the New Isotope 244Md
Khuyagbaatar, J.; Albers, H. M.; Block, M.; Brand, H.; Cantemir, R. A.; Di Nitto, A.; Düllmann, Ch. E.; Götz, M.; Götz, S.; Heßberger, F. P.; Jäger, E.; Kindler, B.; Kratz, J. V.; Krier, J.; Kurz, N.; Lommel, B.; Lens, L.; Mistry, A.; Schausten, B.; Uusitalo, J.; Yakushev, A. (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)The electron-capture decay followed by a prompt fission process was searched for in the hitherto unknown most neutron-deficient Md isotope with mass number 244. Alpha decay with α-particle energies of 8.73–8.86 MeV and ... -
Single Particle Levels and ββ-Decay Matrix Elements in The Interacting Boson Model
Barea, J.; Kotila, Jenni-Mari (IOP Publishing, 2018)Recently a new method to calculate the occupancies of single particle levels in atomic nuclei was developed in the context of the microscopic interacting boson model, in which neutron and proton degrees of freedom are ...
