A comprehensive Geant4 simulation was built for the sage spectrometer. The
simulation package includes the silicon and germanium detectors, the mechanical structure and
the electromagnetic fields present in sage. This simulation can be used for making predictions
through simulating experiments and for comparing simulated and experimental data to better
understand the underlying physics.

(Elsevier; North-Holland, 2019)Fast-timing measurements at the focal plane of a separator can suffer from poor timing resolution. This is due to the variations in time-of-flight (ToF) for photons travelling to a given detector, which arise from the ... -

(American Physical Society (APS), 2022)The nature of two high-spin bands in 136Nd built on the two-quasiparticle configuration πh211/2, predicted by the triaxial projected shell model as good candidates of transverse wobbling bands, are investigated experimentally. ... -
Ion traps in nuclear physics : recent results and achievements
Eronen, Tommi; Kankainen, Anu; Äystö, Juha (Pergamon, 2016)Ion traps offer a way to determine nuclear binding energies through atomic mass measurements with a high accuracy and they are routinely used to provide isotopically or even isomerically pure beams of short-living ions for ... -
Nuclear physics of non-standard 0νβ β-decay
Kotila, J.; Graf, L.; Deppisch, F. F.; Iachello, F. (American Institute of Physics, 2019)The observation neutrinoless double beta (0νβ β) decay remains crucial for understanding lepton number violation. In view of the difficulties to observe the mass mechanism of 0νβ β-decay, investigations of other mechanisms ... -
Improved calculations of β decay backgrounds to new physics in liquid xenon detectors
Haselschwardt, S. J.; Kostensalo, J.; Mougeot, X.; Suhonen, J. (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)We present high-precision theoretical predictions for the electron energy spectra for the ground-state to ground-state β decays of 214Pb, 212Pb, and 85Kr most relevant to the background of liquid xenon dark matter detectors. ...
