A multiparticle spin-trap isomer has been discovered in the proton-unbound nucleus 158
73Ta85. The isomer
mainly decays by γ-ray emission with a half-life of 6.1ð1Þ μs. Analysis of the γ-ray data shows that
the isomer lies 2668 keV above the known 9þ state and has a spin 10ℏ higher and negative parity. This
19− isomer also has an 8644(11) keV, 1.4(2)% α-decay branch that populates the 9þ state in 154Lu.
No proton-decay branch from the isomer was identified, despite the isomer being unbound to proton
emission by 3261(14) keV. This remarkable stability against proton emission is compared with theoretical
predictions, and the implications for the extent of observable nuclides are considered.

(American Physical Society, 2015)Excited states in the odd-odd, highly neutron-deficient nucleus 166Re have been investigated via the 92Mo(78Kr, 3p1n) 166Re reaction. Prompt γ rays were detected by the JUROGAM II γ -ray spectrometer, and the ... -
Shape evolution in even-even N≤126, Z≥82 nuclei
Rahkila, Panu (University of Jyväskylä, 2010)The shape evolution in the neutron-de cient lead, polonium and radium nuclei has been investigated via in-beam and delayed y-ray and conversion electron spectroscopy. The lead isotope 180Pb is found to still exhibit ... -

Multiparticle azimuthal correlations in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2014)Measurements of multiparticle azimuthal correlations (cumulants) for charged particles in p-Pb at √sNN = 5.02 TeV and Pb-Pb at √sNN = 2.76 TeV collisions are presented. They help address the question of whether there is ... -
Jet evolution in a dense medium : event-by-event fluctuations and multi-particle correlations
Escobedo Espinosa, Miguel; Iancu, Edmond (Elsevier BV, 2017)We study the gluon distribution produced via successive medium-induced branchings by an energetic jet propagating through a weakly-coupled quark-gluon plasma. We show that under suitable approximations, the jet evolution ...
