Motivaatio ja kommunikaatio osana IT-projektin onnistumista
Jyväskylä: Jyväskylän yliopisto, 2013, 23 s.
Tietojärjestelmätiede, kandidaatintutkielma
Ohjaaja: Pirhonen, Maritta
Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena on tutkia, miten motivaatio ja kommunikaatio vaikuttavat IT-projektin onnistumiseen. Tutkielma on kirjoitettu projektinhal-linnan näkökulmasta.

Motivation and communication as a part of IT project success

Information Systems, Bachelor’s Thesis)
Supervisor: Pirhonen, Maritta
The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to study how motivation and communi-cation affect IT project success. This thesis is written from the project manager’s perception. The main purpose of the study is to get answers to how important factors motivation and communication are for the project success. The study tries to present ways for a project manager to improve project team motivation, and this way increase the chance for project success.
This thesis also focuses on another common problem in IT projects, which is communication. The thesis introduces some main communication barriers found in IT projects. Some answers are provided for project managers to mini-mize these communication barriers.
The results of this thesis indicate that motivation and communication have an essential role in IT project success. Many simple and clear ways were found for project managers to improve project team motivation and minimize the ef-fect of communication barriers. It was also notable that despite these steps to improve motivation and communication are relatively straightforward to im-plement, they still are many times neglected by some technically focused IT project managers.
