The neutron-deficient nucleus 173Hg has been studied following fusion-evaporation reactions. The observation
of the decay of excited states via γ radiation are reported for the first time and a tentative level scheme is proposed.
The proposed level scheme is discussed within the context of the systematics of neighboring neutron-deficient
Hg nuclei. In addition to the γ -ray spectroscopy, the α decay of this nucleus has been measured yielding superior
precision to earlier measurements.

(American Physical Society, 2018)Using fusion-evaporation reactions, a gas-filled recoil separator, recoil-gating technique and recoil-isomer decay tagging technique we have extended the level scheme of 203 At ( N = 118 ) significantly. We have ... -

(Elsevier, 2022)We present the first experimental evidence of the scissors mode in the superheavy nucleus 254No produced in the 208Pb(48Ca, 2nγ))254No reaction. The spectrum of γ rays emitted by the excited 254No nuclei shows an enhanced ... -

Ion traps in nuclear physics : recent results and achievements
Eronen, Tommi; Kankainen, Anu; Äystö, Juha (Pergamon, 2016)Ion traps offer a way to determine nuclear binding energies through atomic mass measurements with a high accuracy and they are routinely used to provide isotopically or even isomerically pure beams of short-living ions for ... -
Nuclear physics of non-standard 0νβ β-decay
Kotila, J.; Graf, L.; Deppisch, F. F.; Iachello, F. (American Institute of Physics, 2019)The observation neutrinoless double beta (0νβ β) decay remains crucial for understanding lepton number violation. In view of the difficulties to observe the mass mechanism of 0νβ β-decay, investigations of other mechanisms ...
