D9.1 FULL : The Virtual Network for Lifelong Learning

Abstract

In 2023, a University Lifelong Learning (FULL) Network was established within the FORTHEM Alliance. The network brings together lifelong learning experts from all FORTHEM partner universities and aims to offer opportunities for lifelong learning involving staff, organisations, and citizens of all ages in FORTHEM regions and beyond by making access to lifelong learning more readily available to Europeans within and outside our universities. Tandem projects have improved common and joint lifelong learning courses, skills, and employment opportunities for lifelong learners. Establishing a lifelong learning network at the FORTHEM level serves the needs of external stakeholders in learning future skills and upskilling. Furthermore, FORTHEM initiated a network at the inter alliance level (FOR EU Lifelong Learning Network) that was established in 2024, extending beyond FORTHEM and addressing all University Lifelong Learning (ULLL) stakeholders and activities at the level of the European Universities alliances. This network has created a forum for discussion about ULLL at the European level and aims to boost upskilling and reskilling throughout the ULLL learner’s lifecycle.
