1983The current study investigates learning difficulties in some areas of Mathematics from the point of view of the structure of the learning task. The study may be divided into three parts, each dealing with the different aspects of the tests. In the first part all errors made by the pupils are analysed, a flow chart being made of the most prelevant errors in test of equations and inequations in primary level. The second part concentrates on the application of the simple logistic model to the data. In addition, the results were compared to results obtained by traditional test theory. The third part used the linear logistic test model to examine the structure of the items. As a result the difficult operations were found. An estimate for the difficulty parameter was calculated for each operation.

Effect of variable selection strategy on the predictive models for adverse pregnancy outcomes of pre-eclampsia : A retrospective study
Zheng, Dongying; Hao, Xinyu; Khan, Muhanmmad; Kang, Fuli; Li, Fan; Hämäläinen, Timo; Wang, Lixia (Scholar Media Publishing Company, 2024)Objectives: The improvement of prediction for adverse pregnancy outcomes is quite essential to the women suffering from pre-eclampsia, while the collection of predictive indicators is the prerequisite. The traditional ... -
Cyber Threat Analysis in Smart Terminal Systems
Simola, Jussi; Pöyhönen, Jouni; Martti, Lehto (Academic Conferences International Ltd, 2023)Cyber threats create significant factors that challenge traditional threat prevention mechanisms in harbor areas and port terminals. It has been recognized that understanding security functionalities in the harbor area is ... -
Comparison of three ordinal logistic regression methods for predicting person’s self-assessed health status with functional, haemodynamic covariates
Markkanen, Merri-Lotta (2023)Lääketieteen parissa perinteiset kyselytutkimukset ovat yhä suosittuja, jonka myötä myös järjestysasteikollisten muuttujien analyysia suoritetaan paljon. Modernin teknologian kehittyminen näkyy kuitenkin myös tällä ... -
Denoising brain networks using a fixed mathematical phase change in independent component analysis of magnitude-only fMRI data
Zhang, Chao‐Ying; Lin, Qiu‐Hua; Niu, Yan‐Wei; Li, Wei‐Xing; Gong, Xiao‐Feng; Cong, Fengyu; Wang, Yu‐Ping; Calhoun, Vince D. (Wiley, 2023)Brain networks extracted by independent component analysis (ICA) from magnitude-only fMRI data are usually denoised using various amplitude-based thresholds. By contrast, spatial source phase (SSP) or the phase information ... -
