The azimuthal (Δφ) correlation distributions between heavy-flavor decay electrons and associated charged particles are measured in pp and p–Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV. Results are reported for electrons with transverse momentum 4<16 GeV/c and pseudorapidity |η|<0.6. The associated charged particles are selected with transverse momentum 1<7GeV/c, and relative pseudorapidity separation with the leading electron |Δη|<1. The correlation measurements are performed to study and characterize the fragmentation and hadronization of heavy quarks. The correlation structures are fitted with a constant and two von Mises functions to obtain the baseline and the near- and away-side peaks, respectively. The results from p–Pb collisions are compared with those from pp collisions to study the effects of cold nuclear matter. In the measured trigger electron and associated particle kinematic regions, the two collision systems give consistent results. The Δφ distribution and the peak observables in pp and p–Pb collisions are compared with calculations from various Monte Carlo event generators.

Azimuthal Anisotropy of Heavy-Flavor Decay Electrons in p-Pb Collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2019)Angular correlations between heavy-flavor decay electrons and charged particles at midrapidity (|η|<0.8) are measured in p-Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV. The analysis is carried out for the 0%–20% (high) and 60%–100% ... -
Measurement of electrons from semileptonic heavy-flavor hadron decays in pp collisions at √s = 2.76 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2015)The pT-differential production cross section of electrons from semileptonic decays of heavy-flavor hadrons has been measured at midrapidity in proton-proton collisions at ffiffi s p ¼ 2.76 TeV in the transverse momentum ... -

N.; Akiba, Y.; Al-Bataineh, H.; Alexander, J.; Angerami, A.; Aoki, K.; Apadula, N.; Kim, Dong Jo; Rak, Jan (American Physical Society, 2014)Background: Heavy-flavor modification in relativistic p ( d ) + A collisions are sensitive to different kinds of strong-interaction physics ranging from modifications of the nuclear wave function to initial- and ... -
Multiparticle azimuthal correlations in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2014)Measurements of multiparticle azimuthal correlations (cumulants) for charged particles in p-Pb at √sNN = 5.02 TeV and Pb-Pb at √sNN = 2.76 TeV collisions are presented. They help address the question of whether there is ... -
Search for collectivity with azimuthal J/ψ -hadron correlations in high multiplicity p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 and 8.16 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Elsevier B.V., 2018)We present a measurement of azimuthal correlations between inclusive J/ψ and charged hadrons in p–Pb collisions recorded with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ are reconstructed at forward (p-going, ) and backward ...
