Tässä Pro Gradu -tutkielmassa on esitetty kosmisen infaatioteorian erilaisia attraktorimalleja, jotka ajavat maailmankaikkeuden infaatioon, eli eksponentiaaliseen
laajentumiseen, lähtöarvoista riippumatta. Tutkielmassa esitellään perinteinen slow-roll-malli, ja esimerkkeinä tutkimuksen kohteena olevista muista malleista fast-roll-malli, constant-roll-malli, ja α-attraktorimallien luokka. Fast-roll-mallin on jo aiemmin todettu olevan kykenemätön yksinään tuottamaan meidän maailmankaikkeutemme varhaisia häiriöitä, mutta esimerkiksi α-attraktorit tuottavat hyvin havaittavaan dataan sopivia ennusteita. In this master’s thesis I have introduced different attractor models related to cosmic infationary theory, which drive the universe to the infationary epoch, in which the universe expands exponentially, despite the initial conditions. In this thesis I introduce the slow-roll model, and as examples of other models under investigation, fast-roll model, constant-roll model, and a specific class of attractor models called α-attractor models. I note that the Fast-roll model in itself has already been declared not to be capable of producing the early cosmic perturbations, but for example the α-attractor models seem to produce predictions that seem to fit the observable data well.

Higgs-like spectator field as the origin of structure
Karam, Alexandros; Markkanen, Tommi; Marzola, Luca; Nurmi, Sami; Raidal, Martti; Rajantie, Arttu (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2021)We show that the observed primordial perturbations can be entirely sourced by a light spectator scalar field with a quartic potential, akin to the Higgs boson, provided that the field is sufficiently displaced from vacuum ... -
Euclid preparation : XV. Forecasting cosmological constraints for the Euclid and CMB joint analysis
Euclid Collaboration (EDP Sciences, 2022)The combination and cross-correlation of the upcoming Euclid data with cosmic microwave background (CMB) measurements is a source of great expectation since it will provide the largest lever arm of epochs, ranging from ... -
Inflaatio ja rakenteiden synty
Mönkkönen, Keijo (2016)Kosmologian standardimallina tunnettu LCDM-malli on vakiinnuttanut asemansa parhaana mahdollisena selityksenä viimeaikaisille kosmologisille havainnoille. Ilman ns. inflaatiovaihetta malli törmää kuitenkin varhaista ... -
Cosmological constraints on primordial black holes
Cangialosi, Antonino (2019)Primordial Black Holes (PBH) may have formed from collapse of high-density primordial fluctuations in the early Universe. Interest for PBH has been stirred anew by the LIGO detection of gravitational waves from massive ... -
Application of the stochastic formalism for spectator scalars during inflation
Rantamäki, Julia (2023)Kevyiden ja energiatiheydeltään pienten spektaattorikenttien kvanttifluktuaatiot kasvavat inflaation aikana Hubblen horisontin ulkopuolisilla skaaloilla ja käyttäytyvät efektiivisesti kuten klassiset kentän häiriöt. Nämä ...
