Puettavat teknologiat ovat alati kehittyviä laitteita, joiden suosion kasvu on ollut voimakasta viimeiset vuodet. Tämän kandidaatintutkielman tarkoituksena on tutkia erilaisia teknologioita puettavien laitteiden taustalla sekä puettavien teknologioiden tuottaman datan käyttötapoja urheilussa. Tutkielmassa käsitellään myös puettavien teknologioiden haasteita. Tutkielma on toteutettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena.
Wearable technologies are ever-evolving devices that have grown in popularity in recent years. The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to study the different technologies that wearable devices utilize as well as the uses of the data produced by wearable technologies in sports. The thesis also discusses the challenges of wearable technologies. The thesis has been implemented as a literature review. As a result of the thesis, it was discovered that the wearable technology in sports is used to prevent and identify injuries, improve training methods and performance, make tactical decisions, and monitor recovery and exertion. Wearable device technologies are united by the fact that they provide information to their user either directly through the wearable device or through the host device. These technologies are also often integrated with each other to improve measurement results and capabilities of wearable devices. On the other hand, the challenges of wearable technologies seem to be data security, data ownership, and the physical characteristics of the device.en
