The synergistic combination and integration of information technology (IT) and other complementary organizational resources to form IT-enabled resources, has long been identified as one means through which organizations can derive benefits from IT. However, research shows that the integration required to form IT-enabled resources from which organizations derive benefits, also constrains the renewal and redeployment of the IT-enabled resources to address new strategic imperatives. Thus, there are several calls for further research on how organizations can sustain the derivation of benefits from IT especially in dynamic environments. This study responds to such calls. Specifically, it draws on a systematic literature review of empirical research on post-implementation changes to investigate the structural properties of an IT-enabled resource that may enable or constrain the renewal of the IT- enabled resource to address new strategic imperatives. Three structural properties emerged: the centrality of the focal IT asset, the type of coupling among the components, and the flexibility of the components of an IT-enabled resource. This study also found that organizational and institutional factors influence the formation of the structural properties of an IT-enabled resource. Implications for practice and research are discussed. This study contributes to the literature on the business value of IT.

Exploring the Renewal of IT-enabled Resources from a Structural Perspective
Lumor, Truth; Pulkkinen, Mirja; Chan, Yolande E.; Hirvonen, Ari (Association for Information Systems, 2023)Organizations are exposed to ever-increasing dynamic environments making the need to sustain the derivation of IT benefits critical. However, researchers have observed that IT benefits are short-lived and have called for ... -
AoI-Aware Waveform Design for Cooperative Joint Radar-Communications Systems with Online Prediction of Radar Target Property
Li, Zhuofei; Hu, Fengye; Li, Qihao; Ling, Zhuang; Chang, Zheng; Hämäläinen, Timo (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2024)In this paper, we propose a novel age-of-information (AoI)-aware waveform design scheme for the cooperative joint radar-communications (JRC) system, called AoI-aware Online Prediction (A-OnP) scheme. To be specific, we ... -
Effect of tire-char ash on the extent of synergy during CO2 co-gasification with hydrochar from potassium-rich coconut fiber
Hungwe, Douglas; Khoshbouy, Reza; Ullah, Saleem; Ding, Lu; Yoshikawa, Kunio; Takahashi, Fumitake (American Chemical Society, 2020)The influence of inherent tire char ash during co-gasification with coconut hydrochar prepared at different intensities was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis to ascertain the extent to which synergistic interaction, ... -

Self-assembly, crystal structure, computational studies, optical investigation, magnetic and biological properties of novel compounds based on methoxyphenyl piperazinium ligand
Makhlouf, Jawher; El Bakri, Youness; Saravanan, Kandasamy; Valkonen, Arto; Gomez Garcia, Carlos, J.; Smirani Sta, Wajda (Elsevier BV, 2023)Two novel methoxyphenyl-based piperazine compounds have been investigated. The crystal structures of [C11H18N2O][Co(SCN)4] (1) and [(C11H18N2O)4]Cl8.7H2O (2) have been determined using single crystal X-ray crystallography. ...
