Using QCD calculations of the cross section of inclusive dijet photoproduction in Pb–Pb ultraperipheral collisions in the LHC kinematics as pseudo-data, we study the effect of including these data using the Bayesian reweighting technique on nCTEQ15, nCTEQ15np, and EPPS16 nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs). We find that, depending on the assumed error of the pseudo-data, it leads to a significant reduction of the nPDF uncertainties at small values of the momentum fraction xA . Taking the error to be 5%, the uncertainty of nCTEQ15 and nCTEQ15np nPDFs reduces approximately by a factor of two at xA=10−3 . At the same time, the reweighting effect on EPPS16 nPDFs is much smaller due to the higher value of the tolerance and a more flexible parametrization form.

Open-source QCD analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions at NLO and NNLO
Walt, Marina; Helenius, Ilkka; Vogelsang, Werner (American Physical Society, 2019)We present new sets of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) at next-to-leading order and next-to-next-to-leading order. Our analyses are based on deeply inelastic scattering data with charged-lepton and neutrino ... -
First global next-to-leading order determination of diffractive parton distribution functions and their uncertainties within the xFitter framework
Goharipour, Muhammad; Khanpour, Hamzeh; Guzey, Vadim (Springer, 2018)We present GKG18-DPDFs, a next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD analysis of diffractive parton distribution functions (diffractive PDFs) and their uncertainties. This is the first global set of diffractive PDFs determined ... -
Can we fit nuclear PDFs with the high-x CLAS data?
Paukkunen, Hannu; Zurita, Pia (Springer, 2020)Nuclear parton distribution functions (nuclear PDFs) are non-perturbative objects that encode the partonic behaviour of bound nucleons. To avoid potential higher-twist contributions, the data probing the high-x end of ... -
Applicability of pion–nucleus Drell–Yan data in global analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions
Paakkinen, Petja; Eskola, Kari; Paukkunen, Hannu (Elsevier B.V., 2017)Despite the success of modern nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) in describing nuclear hard-process data, they still suffer from large uncertainties. One of the poorly constrained features is the possible asymmetry ... -
Relativistic corrections to the vector meson light front wave function
Lappi, Tuomas; Mäntysaari, Heikki; Penttala, Jani (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)We compute a light front wave function for heavy vector mesons based on long-distance matrix elements constrained by decay width analyses in the nonrelativistic QCD framework. Our approach provides a systematic expansion ...
