Resilience against information and cyber security threats has become
an essential ability for organizations to maintain business continuity. As bulletproof
security is an unattainable goal, organizations need to concentrate to select
optimal countermeasures against information and cyber security threats. Implementation
of cyber risk management actions require special knowledge and resources,
which especially small and medium-size enterprises often lack. Information
and cyber security risk management establish knowledge intensive business
processes, which can be assisted with a proper knowledge management system.
This paper analyzes how Semantic MediaWiki could be used as a platform
to assist organizations, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, in their
information and cyber security risk management. The approach adopts design
science research and service design methodologies in the derivation and evaluation
of the system.

Development of an Agile Requirements Risk Prioritization Method : A Design Science Research Study
Tuunanen, Tuure; Vartiainen, Tero; Kainulainen, Sanna; Ebrahim, Mehdi (Association for Information Systems, 2023)The practice of information systems development (ISD) has changed during the past two decades from very structured approaches to agile ISD methods. However, many methods available for managing requirements-related risks ... -
The Design Science Research Process : A Model for Producing and Presenting Information Systems Research
Peffers, Ken; Tuunanen, Tuure; Gengler, Charles E.; Rossi, Matti; Hui, Wendy; Virtanen, Ville; Bragge, Johanna (Claremont Graduate University, 2006)The authors design and demonstrate a process for carrying out design science (DS) research in information systems and demonstrate use of the process to conduct research in two case studies. Several IS researchers have ... -
Design science research genres : introduction to the special issue on exemplars and criteria for applicable design science research
Peffers, Ken; Tuunanen, Tuure; Niehaves, Björn (Taylor and Francis, 2018)We propose the definition of genres in IS design science research (DSR). In recent years DSR has become a well-accepted research paradigm within IS; however, now the diversity of purpose, methodology, and mental models has ... -
Semantic distance as a critical factor in icon design for in-car infotainment systems
Silvennoinen, Johanna; Kujala, Tuomo; Jokinen, Jussi P.P. (Pergamon Press, 2017)In-car infotainment systems require icons that enable fluent cognitive information processing and safe interaction while driving. An important issue is how to find an optimised set of icons for different functions in terms ... -
Dual Information Systems: Supporting Organizational Working and Learning by Making Organizational Memory Transparent
Käkölä, Timo; Koota, Kalle I. (Taylor & Francis, 1999)The conceptual design of most computer-based information systems reflects a dualism of technology. During the development phase, part of the work-domain-related knowledge is formalized and encoded in the software, making ...
