We study a singlet scalar extension of the Standard Model. The singlet scalar is
coupled non-minimally to gravity and assumed to drive inflation, and also couple sufficiently
strongly with the SM Higgs field in order to provide for a strong first order electroweak phase
transition. Requiring the model to describe inflation successfully, be compatible with the
LHC data, and yield a strong first order electroweak phase transition, we identify the regions
of the parameter space where the model is viable. We also include a singlet fermion with
scalar coupling to the singlet scalar to probe the sensitivity of the constraints on additional
degrees of freedom and their couplings in the singlet sector. We also comment on the general
feasibility of these fields to act as dark matter.

Novel mechanism for primordial perturbations in minimal extensions of the Standard Model
Karam, Alexandros; Markkanen, Tommi; Marzola, Luca; Nurmi, Sami; Raidal, Martti; Rajantie, Arttu (Springer, 2020)We demonstrate that light spectator fields in their equilibrium can source sizeable CMB anisotropies through modulated reheating even in the absence of direct couplings to the inflaton. The effect arises when the phase ... -
Muon-electron lepton-flavor-violating transitions : Shell-model calculations of transitions in 27Al
Kostensalo, Joel; Suhonen, Jouni; Civitarese, O. (American Physical Society, 2018)In this paper we present the results of large-scale shell-model calculations of muon-to-electron lepton-flavorviolating transitions for the case of the target nucleus 27Al. We extend the previous shell-model calculations, done ... -
Critical point Higgs inflation in the Palatini formulation
Enckell, Vera-Maria; Nurmi, Sami; Räsänen, Syksy; Tomberg, Eemeli (Springer, 2021)We study Higgs inflation in the Palatini formulation with the renormalisation group improved potential in the case when loop corrections generate a feature similar to an inflection point. Assuming that there is a threshold ... -
Strong BV-extension and W1,1-extension domains
García-Bravo, Miguel; Rajala, Tapio (Elsevier, 2022)We show that a bounded domain in a Euclidean space is a W1,1-extension domain if and only if it is a strong BV-extension domain. In the planar case, bounded and strong BV-extension domains are shown to be exactly those ...
