We investigate the elastic and inelastic scattering of lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) dark matter
off two possible target nuclei, 83Kr and 125Te. For the nuclear-structure calculations, we employ the nuclear
shell model using recently generated realistic interactions. We have condensed the nuclear-physics
contribution to a set of nuclear-structure factors that are independent of the adopted supersymmetric
(SUSY) model. Total event rates are then easily calculated by combining the nuclear-structure factors with
SUSY parameters of choice. In particular, 125Te shows promise as a detector material with both the elastic
and inelastic channels yielding an appreciable nuclear response.

The EPPS16 nuclear PDFs
Eskola, Kari; Paakkinen, Petja; Paukkunen, Hannu; Salgado, Carlos A. (Sissa, 2017)We report on EPPS16 - the first analysis of NLO nuclear PDFs where LHC p-Pb data (Z, W, dijets) have been directly used as a constraint. In comparison to our previous fit EPS09, also data from neutrino-nucleus deeply-inelastic ... -
Muon-electron lepton-flavor-violating transitions : Shell-model calculations of transitions in 27Al
Kostensalo, Joel; Suhonen, Jouni; Civitarese, O. (American Physical Society, 2018)In this paper we present the results of large-scale shell-model calculations of muon-to-electron lepton-flavorviolating transitions for the case of the target nucleus 27Al. We extend the previous shell-model calculations, done ... -
Examination of the influence of transfer channels on the barrier height distribution: Scattering of 20Ne on 58Ni, 60Ni, and 61Ni at near-barrier energies
Trzcińska, A.; Piasecki, E.; Amar, A.; Czarnacki, W.; Keeley, N.; Kisieliński, M.; Kliczewski, S.; Kowalczyk, M.; Lommel, B.; Mutterer, M.; Siudak, R.; Stolarz, A.; Strojek, I.; Tyurin, Grigory; Trzaska, Wladyslaw (American Physical Society, 2016)Background: It was suggested that the shape of the barrier height distribution can be determined not only by strong reaction channels (collective excitations) but also by weak channels such as transfers and/or ... -
Centrality Dependence of the Charged-Particle Multiplicity Density at Midrapidity in Pb-Pb Collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2016)The pseudorapidity density of charged particles, dNch=dη, at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions has been measured at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √sNN=5.02 TeV. For the 5% most central collisions, we measure ... -
Studying strangeness and baryon production mechanisms through angular correlations between charged Ξ baryons and identified hadrons in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV
The ALICE collaboration (Springer Nature, 2024)The angular correlations between charged Ξ baryons and associated identified hadrons (pions, kaons, protons, Λ baryons, and Ξ baryons) are measured in pp collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ALICE detector to give insight into ...
