The theory of double beta decay is briefly reviewed. The most recent (2015) results for 0νβ

nuclear matrix elements in the interacting boson model (IBM-2) with light and heavy neutrino
exchange are given for all nuclei of interest from 48Ca to 238U. The question of quenching of the
axial vector coupling constant gA in nuclei is discussed. Possible additional scenarios, such as
Majoron emission, and mechanisms, such as sterile neutrino exchanges, are also discussed.

Impact of the quenching of gA on the sensitivity of 0νββ experiments
Suhonen, Jouni (American Physical Society, 2017)Detection of the neutrinoless ββ (0νββ) decay is of high priority in the particle- and neutrino-physics communities. The detectability of this decay mode is strongly influenced by the value of the weak axial-vector coupling ... -
Jet quenching as a probe of the initial stages in heavy-ion collisions
Andres, Carlota; Armesto, Néstor; Niemi, Harri; Paatelainen, Risto; Salgado, Carlos A. (Elsevier, 2020)Jet quenching provides a very flexible variety of observables which are sensitive to different energy- and time-scales of the strongly interacting matter created in heavy-ion collisions. Exploiting this versatility would ... -
Quenching of the weak axial-vector coupling strength in β decays
Suhonen, Jouni (Jagellonian University, 2018)The quenching of the weak axial-vector coupling strength, gA, in nuclear β decays is reviewed. The quenching is discussed for both the Gamow–Teller decays and the forbidden β decays of different variants. Both the historical ... -
Constraints on jet quenching in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV measured by the event-activity dependence of semi-inclusive hadron-jet distributions
ALICE Collaboration (Elsevier B.V., 2018)The ALICE Collaboration reports the measurement of semi-inclusive distributions of charged-particle jets recoiling from a high-transverse momentum trigger hadron in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV. Jets are reconstructed ... -
Single Event Transients and Pulse Quenching Effects in Bandgap Reference Topologies for Space Applications

These are commonly induced in microelectronics in the ...
