Älykoti ikääntyvien kotihoidon tukena

Abstract

Väestö ikääntyy Euroopassa ja myös Suomessa kiihtyvää vauhtia, jonka seurauksena huollettavien määrä työikäisiin nähden kasvaa hälyttävää vauhtia. Erityisesti ikäihmisten hoitotyö on ollut viimevuosina suuren muutospaineen alla ja kehitystä on pyritty saavuttamaan niin itse hoitotyön tehostamisen kautta, kuin erilaisten apuvälineiden käytön avulla. Yksi tietojenkäsittelyn tarjoama apu tähän kaikkeen on langattomat sensoriverkot ja älykodit ikäihmisten kotihoidon tukemiseen. Tutkimuksessa haastateltiin avoimen keskustelun kautta Kokkolan kaupungin kotihoidon ja vanhuspalveluiden esimiehiä ja koottiin heidän mielipiteidensä mukainen tavoitetaso siitä, minkälaisena he näkevät hyödyllisen älykotiratkaisun Kokkolassa. Käytyjen keskustelujen ja tutkimuksessa esitettävän teorian avulla, työssä esitetään mahdollinen case-tapaus Kokkolan kotihoidolle sopivasta älykodista.

Population in Europe and in Finland is aging at an accelerating pace. As a result the number of dependants respect to the number of people of working age is growing at an alarming pace. In particular, pressure of change in elderly home care has been big and efforts have been made to achieve the improvement through increasing the performance of home care and through the use of various tools. One of the data processing assistance offered to all this is the wireless sensor networks and the support of smart homes to the elderly home care. City of Kokkola home care supervisors were interviewed through open debate and their opinions were collected to hear their version of useful smart home solution. Through he discussions and theory presented, this paper provides a possible case for appropriate smart home solution for the city of Kokkola.
