Open Access Survey - The Summary : Survey of Academic Attitudes towards Open Access and Institutional Repositories
The University of Jyväskylä aims to be an institution advancing free scholarly information. To support this the Rector has recommended researchers, starting from the beginning of 2011, to save the final draft (aka post-print) files of their research articles in TUTKA register at the same time when recording the relating data. By the end of the year 2011 was seen that only 200 articles had been posted. It became necessary to find out what researchers generally think about the Open Access issues. The results indicate that Open Access is received very positively amont the researchers. OA thinking is not, however, reflected as strong in researcher's own publishing activity. It is obvious that all further information about the matter is necessary.
