Abstract. This work presents experimental Single Event Gate
Rupture (SEGR) data for Metal–Insulator–Semiconductor (MIS)
devices, where the gate dielectrics are made of stacked SiO2–Si3N4
structures. A semi-empirical model for predicting the
critical gate voltage in these structures under heavy-ion exposure
is first proposed. Then interrelationship between SEGR cross-
section and heavy-ion induced energy deposition probability in
thin dielectric layers is discussed. Qualitative connection between
the energy deposition in the dielectric and the SEGR is proposed.

Biomechanical recovery factors in non-surgically treated ruptured Achilles tendons : Biomechanics of the Achilles tendon after rupture
Khair, Raad (Jyväskylän yliopisto, 2023)Achilles tendon rupture (ATR) is a frequent and disabling injury. In the last decade the incidence of ATR has been increasing especially in middle aged men participating in recreational sports. Plantar flexion strength ... -
Muscle-tendon morphomechanical properties of non-surgically treated Achilles tendon 1-year post-rupture
Khair, Ra'ad M.; Stenroth, Lauri; Cronin, Neil J.; Reito, Aleksi; Paloneva, Juha; Finni, Taija (Elsevier BV, 2022)Background Achilles tendon rupture appears to alter stiffness and length of the tendon. These alterations may affect the function of tendon in force transmission and in energy storage and recovery. We studied the mechanical ... -
Non‐uniform displacement within ruptured Achilles tendon during isometric contraction
Khair, Ra’ad M.; Stenroth, Lauri; Péter, Annamária; Cronin, Neil J.; Reito, Aleksi; Paloneva, Juha; Finni, Taija (Wiley, 2021)The purpose of this study was investigate tendon displacement patterns in non‐surgically treated patients 14 months after acute Achilles tendon rupture (ATR) and to classify patients into groups based on their Achilles ... -
Tendon length estimates are influenced by tracking location
Finni, Taija; Peter, Annamaria; Khair, Ra’ad; Cronin, Neil J. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2022)Purpose Measurement of medial gastrocnemius (MG) tendon length using ultrasonography (US) requires the muscle–tendon junction (MTJ) to be located. Previously, the MG MTJ has been tracked from different proximo-distal ... -
The Clip Approach : A Visual Methodology to Support the (Re)Construction of Life Narratives
Talsi, Riikka; Laitila, Aarno; Joensuu, Timo; Saarinen, Esa (SAGE Publications, 2021)Major life changes may cause an autobiographical rupture and a need to work on one’s narrative identity. This article introduces a new qualitative interview methodology originally developed to facilitate 10 prostate cancer ...
