Yhteisöllinen oppiminen hoitotyön simulaatio-opetuksessa

Abstract
Collaborative learning and simulation are increasingly used in nursing education. The aim of this study is to provide insights into collaborative learning in the context of nursing simulation training. The overall aim of simulation training is to prepare students in higher education to face key patient situations in the workplace. The aim of this study is to investigate the factors that support and challenge collaborative learning as experienced by nursing students in collaborative simulation training in nursing. The research data was based on online diaries written by students and analysed using thematic analysis. The findings describe the factors that support and challenge collaborative learning. The fac-tors described by the students as supporting collaborative learning are those related to the students them-selves, such as acting in different roles and maintaining motivation, and those related to the group, such as peer support, commitment to working together, and dialogical interaction. Unpleasant experiences, tensions of working in pairs, role-related stresses in simulations and difficulties in learning discussions were described as challenges to students’ collaborative learning. The results can be used to inform the design and implementation of simulation training. Based on the results, it is particularly important to pay attention to enabling students to play different roles in simulation training. In addition, sufficient time should be set aside for learning discussions between the teacher and the students after the simulations.
