Koneoppimisen hyödyntäminen metsä- ja maastopalojen havaitsemisessa droneilmakuvista

Kandidaatintutkielmassa käsitellään koneoppimisalgoritmien hyödyntämistä metsä- ja maastopalojen havaitsemiseen droneilmakuvista. Tutkielma on kirjallisuuskatsaus, ja sen tavoitteena on pohtia, kuinka toimiva ratkaisu koneoppiminen tässä käyttökohteessa on. Kirjallisuuskatsauksen perusteella koneoppimisen käyttö palojen havaitsemiseen dronekuvista on mahdollisesti tulevaisuudessa toimiva keino ehkäistä palojen leviämistä, mutta tällä hetkellä teknologian kehittämisessä on vielä paljon haasteita ratkaistavana.

This bachelor’s thesis discusses the use of machine learning algorithms in detecting forest fires and wild fires from drone aerial imagery. The thesis is a literature review, and it aims to discuss the application and functionality of machine learning in this field. The literature review finds the use of machine learning in detecting fires from drone imagery a possible solution in the future to prevent or slow down the spread of the fire, but at the moment the development of this technology still faces a lot of challenges.
