We discuss how vector meson production at the future Electron Ion Collider can be used to probe non-linear dynamics in heavy nuclei. Additionally, the potential to study the evolution of proton and nuclear geometries with event-by-event fluctuations is illustrated.

Mäntysaari, Heikki; Penttala, Jani (Elsevier BV, 2021)We calculate exclusive production of a longitudinally polarized heavy vector meson at next-to-leading order in the dipole picture. The large quark mass allows us to separately include both the first QCD correction proportional ...
Flett, C. A.; Gracey, J. A.; Jones, S. P.; Teubner, T. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2021)We compute the exclusive electroproduction, γ*p → Vp, of heavy quarkonia V to NLO in the collinear factorisation scheme, which has been formally proven for this process. The inclusion of an off-shell virtuality Q2 carried ...
Systematics of strong nuclear amplification of gluon saturation from exclusive vector meson production in high energy electron–nucleus collisions Mäntysaari, Heikki; Venugopalan, Raju (Elsevier BV, 2018)We show that gluon saturation gives rise to a strong modification of the scaling in both the nuclear mass number A and the virtuality Q 2 of the vector meson production cross-section in exclusive deep-inelastic scattering ...
ALICE Collaboration (Elsevier, 2020)The measurement of the deuteron and anti-deuteron production in the rapidity range −1 < y < 0 as a function of transverse momentum and event multiplicity in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV is presented. (Anti-)deuterons ...
Non-linear interactions of femtosecond laser pulses with graphene : photo-oxidation, imaging and photodynamics Koivistoinen, Juha (University of Jyväskylä, 2017)This thesis presents a study focused on interactions of femtosecond laser pulses with graphene, a one atom thick carbon membrane. Graphene, which exhibits exceptional electronic and optoelectronic properties, could ...
