Tässä työssä esitellään Jyväskylän yliopiston kiihdytinlaboratoriossa sijaitsevaan IGISOL-laitokseen rakennetun moniheijastavan lentoaika-massaerottajan (engl. Multi- Reflection Time-of-Flight mass separator, MR-ToF-ms) käyttöönottokokeen tulokset. Massaerottaja koekäytettiin loukuttamalla ja erottamalla toisistaan samaan ionikimpuun sekoitetut 87Rb ja 85Rb-ionit. Tässä kokeessa laitteella saavutettiin 2.6 · 104 massaerotussuhdeluku 2.6 millisekunnin ajassa. Työssä kokeiltiin myös ionien massavalikoivaa lähetystä moniheijastavasta lentoaika-massaerottajasta jännitepulssitettavan keskuselektrodin avulla onnistuneesti.

In this work, the results from the offline characterisation of the JYFL Multi-reflection time-of-flight mass separator (MR-ToF-ms) constructed at the IGISOL-facility are presented. The separator was used to trap and separate ion bunches consisting of 87Rb and 85Rb. Mass resolving power of 2.6 · 104 was achieved in 2.6 ms in this test. During the characterisation, the use mass-selective ion ejection from the MR-ToF-ms was also tested and found viable.
