I review the current status of global analysis of nuclear parton distributions and discuss some nearfuture prospects. I also advocate proton-nucleus (p-A) measurements at the LHC with A « 208 from the viewpoint of nuclear parton distributions.

(American Physical Society, 2020)Rotational structures have been measured using the Jurogam II and GAMMASPHERE arrays at low spin following the 155Gd(α,2n)157Dy and 148Nd(12C,5n)155Dy reactions at 25 and 65 MeV, respectively. We report high-K bands, which ... -
Comparative Analysis of Nuclear Matrix Elements of 0νβ+β+ Decay and Muon Capture in 106Cd
Jokiniemi, Lotta; Suhonen, Jouni; Kotila, Jenni (Frontiers Media SA, 2021)Comparative analyses of the nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) related to the 0νβ+β+ decay of 106Cd to the ground state of 106Pd and the ordinary muon capture (OMC) in 106Cd are performed. This is the first time the OMC NMEs ... -
Analysis of light neutrino exchange and short-range mechanisms in 0νββ decay
Deppisch, Frank F.; Graf, Lukas; Iachello, Francesco; Kotila, Jenni (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)Neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ) is a crucial test for lepton number violation. Observation of this process would have fundamental implications for neutrino physics, theories beyond the Standard Model and cosmology. ... -
Spectral shapes of second-forbidden single-transition nonunique β decays assessed using the nuclear shell model
Ramalho, Marlom; Suhonen, Jouni; Neacsu, Andrei; Stoica, Sabin (Frontiers Media, 2024)Experimental and theoretical studies of β electrons (electrons emitted in β−-decaytransitions) and their β-electron spectra have recently experienced a rapid expansion. These β spectral shapes have been used to study total ... -
Ion traps in nuclear physics : recent results and achievements
Eronen, Tommi; Kankainen, Anu; Äystö, Juha (Pergamon, 2016)Ion traps offer a way to determine nuclear binding energies through atomic mass measurements with a high accuracy and they are routinely used to provide isotopically or even isomerically pure beams of short-living ions for ...
