The structure of near neutron midshell
116
Cd
has been investigated via β decay of
116
Ag
m
by β-γ and γ-γ coincidence spectroscopy. The
116
Ag
m
activity was produced by symmetric fission of natural uranium induced by 25 MeV protons. The ion guide technique has been employed to produce online mass separated sources. The decay scheme of
116
Ag
m
has been considerably extended by adding 19 new excited states of
116
Cd
.
The newly identified
116
Cd
state at 1869.7 keV, along with other four levels near 2 MeV, are interpreted as forming the complete three-phonon quintuplet. The vibrational structure of
116
Cd
is discussed in the context of an anharmonic vibrator.

P.; Burtebaev, N.; Janseitov, D. (American Physical Society (APS), 2020)The differential cross sections of the 11B(3He,d)12C reaction leading to formation of the 0+ ground state and the 15.11-MeV 1 +, 16.57-MeV 2−, and 17.23-MeV 1− excited states of 12C are measured at Elab=25 MeV. The analysis ... -
Mass measurements of neutron-deficient nuclei and their implications for astrophysics
Kankainen, Anu; Novikov, Yuri; Schatz, H.; Weber, Christine (Springer, 2012)During the years 2005-2010 the double-Penning-trap mass spectrometer JYFLTRAP has been used to measure the masses of 90 ground and 8 isomeric states of neutron-deficient nuclides with a typical precision of better than ... -

In-Beam spectroscopy of extremely neutron deficient nuclei [sup 110]Xe [sup 163]Ta [sup 169]Ir and [sup 172]Hg
Sandzelius, Mikael (University of Jyväskylä, 2009)This thesis describes new results obtained from experimental studies of the extremely neutron-deficient isotopes 110Xe, 163Ta, 169Ir, and 172Hg, close to the proton drip-line. The experiments used state-of-the-art equipment ... -
