We present results on transverse momentum
(pt) and rapidity (y) differential production cross sections,
mean transverse momentum and mean transverse momentum
square of inclusive J/ψ and ψ(2S) at forward rapidity
(2.5 < y < 4) as well as ψ(2S)-to-J/ψ cross section
ratios. These quantities are measured in pp collisions at center
of mass energies √s = 5.02 and 13 TeV with the ALICE
detector. Both charmonium states are reconstructed in the
dimuon decay channel, using the muon spectrometer. A comprehensive
comparison to inclusive charmonium cross sections
measured at √s = 2.76, 7 and 8 TeV is performed.
A comparison to non-relativistic quantum chromodynamics
and fixed-order next-to-leading logarithm calculations,
which describe prompt and non-prompt charmonium production
respectively, is also presented. A good description of
the data is obtained over the full pt range, provided that both
contributions are summed. In particular, it is found that for
pt > 15 GeV/c the non-prompt contribution reaches up to
50% of the total charmonium yield.

Energy dependence of ϕ meson production at forward rapidity in pp collisions at the LHC
ALICE Collaboration (Springer, 2021)The production of ϕ mesons has been studied in pp collisions at LHC energies with the ALICE detector via the dimuon decay channel in the rapidity region 2.5<4. Measurements of the differential cross section d2σ/dydpT are ... -
Measurement of ϕ-meson production at forward rapidity in p+p collisions at √s = 510 GeV and its energy dependence from √s = 200 GeV to 7 TeV
PHENIX Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2018)The PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider has measured the differential cross section of ϕ ( 1020 ) -meson production at forward rapidity in p + p collisions at √ s = 510 GeV ... -
Centrality-dependent forward J/ψ production in high energy proton-nucleus collisions
Ducloue, Bertrand; Lappi, Tuomas; Mäntysaari, H. (EDP Sciences, 2016)Forward J/ψ production and suppression in high energy proton-nucleus collisions can be an important probe of gluon saturation. In an earlier work we studied this process in the Color Glass Condensate framework and showed ... -
Study of very forward energy and its correlation with particle production at midrapidity in pp and p-Pb collisions at the LHC
ALICE collaboration (Springer, 2022)The energy deposited at very forward rapidities (very forward energy) is a powerful tool for characterising proton fragmentation in pp and p-Pb collisions. The correlation of very forward energy with particle production ... -
Inclusive J/𝜓 production in forward proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at high energy
Gimeno-Estivill, Patricia; Lappi, Tuomas; Mäntysaari, Heikki (American Physical Society, 2024)We calculate the cross section for forward J/𝜓 production in proton-proton and minimum bias proton-lead collisions using the color glass condensate (CGC) and nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) formalism consistently with deep ...
