Tämä tutkimus pohjautui Jyväskylän yliopiston koordinoimaan Toimintakykyä edistävä ohjaus (TEO) -tutkimukseen keskittyen erityisesti Tukea tarvitsevan oppilaan toimintakykyä ja oppimista edistävä ohjaus kouluympäristössä (OTE) -osaprojektiin. Tutkimus liittyi Oppimis- ja ohjauskeskus Valteri, Ruskiksen kehittämishankkeeseen, jonka päämääränä oli HOJKSin tavoitteiden vähentäminen, moniammatillisen yhteistyön lisääminen sekä oppilaslähtöisen työotteen vahvistaminen. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää erityistä tukea tarvitsevien oppilaiden HOJKSin tavoitteiden sisältöjä ICF-luokituksen ja oppilaslähtöisyyden pohjalta tarkasteltuna kahdeksan vuoden aikana Ruskiksen erityiskoulussa. Tutkimusasetelmana oli retrospektiivinen pitkittäistutkimus. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostui Ruskiksen oppilaiden HOJKSin kolmesta keskeisestä tavoitteesta sekä HOJKSiin kuuluvan oppilaan oman osion tavoitteista lukuvuosien 2008–2009, 2013–2014 ja 2015–2016 ajalta. Valitut ajankohdat perustuivat HOJKS-kehitystyön muutosten taitekohtiin. Tutkimusmenetelminä olivat teorialähtöinen sisällönanalyysi pohjautuen WHO:n yksiportaiseen ICF-luokitukseen (International Classification of Functioning) sekä luokitteleva sisällönanalyysi.
This study was a part of University of Jyväskylä coordinated research project TEO focusing on functional capability enhancing guidance. This study focused more specifically on learning enhancing and functional capability supportive guidance of the students with special needs in their school environment and is a part of sub-research called OTE. This study was based on the development project of Valteri Centre for Learning and Consulting, Ruskis that aimed to to lessen the total number of different goals in IEP, increase multidisciplinary co-operation and strengthen the student-centered approach. This longitudinal study aims to explore the content of the IEPs in Ruskis based on both the ICF classification and the student-centered approach within eight-year time frame retrospectively. The research material of the study consisted of the three main goals of the IEPs and the per-sonal goals of the students also documented in the IEP during the school years of 2008–2009, 2013–2014 and 2015–2016. These specific time periods were selected due to the changes in IEPs. The method of the study was theory based content analysis based on the ICF (International Classification of Functioning) one-level classification and classifying content analysis. After the content analysis the research material was quantified and further analyzed with Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient in IBM SPSS 22.0 statistical analysis software. The research included 13 participants from Ruskis (mean age 15.8, girls 54 %). Altogether 112 IEP goals were analyzed based on the ICF classification. In addition, 100 IEP goals were analyzed based on the student-centered approach. These 112 IEP goals were divided into 127 notes. Activities and participation (d) was the largest ICF component with a total number of 115 notes (103 % of all goals), the difference to the other components was statistically significant (p < 0.05). The largest ICF chapters of the goals were learning and applying knowledge (d1) with 34 %, communication (d3) with 20 % and mobility (d4) with 19 % of all of the notes. Between these three different school years, statistically significant difference was found in chapters general tasks and demands (d2), mobility (d4) and self-care (d5) as the average number of these goals was decreased in the school year 2015–2016 compared to 2013–2014 (d2) and 2008–2009 (d4 and d5) (p < 0.05). In addition, 60 percent of the goals were not student-centered. Differences between categories were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Based on the principles of the conductive pedagogy, the content of the IEP goals was focused on the ICF component activities and participation (d) highlighting the areas of learning, com-munication and mobility. Due to the IEPs’ development project, number of goals related to mobilitity (d4) and self-care (d5) decreased from the year 2008–2009 and goals related to general tasks and demands (d2) decreased from the year 2013–2014 onwards. In 2015–2016 the content of the goals focused mainly on learning and communication. In general, most of the goals were not student-centered. The importance of the multidisciplinary co-operation and the student-centered approach should be emphasized in the future. In addition, there was a lot of ambiguous in the goals that should be noticed by means of more accuracy goal setting.en
